I think the steam engine analogy is pretty good for this.

For people raising armies, moving ore, tilling fields powered by wheat, rice and corn.

To suddenly be able to do this without planting a seed must have feel like magic.

The same is happening with intellectual pursuits. Sure the day the steam engine was developed people didn’t imagine a tractor tilling fields. But it did happen.

When you can turn electricity into thoughts, super-human thoughts, in parallel, at scale. It’s really hard to imagine the implications.

There’s a lesser difference between early humans and gorillas.
