Instead of politicians fighting over whether 2 or 6 stanzas of our national song should be sung, and TV anchors turning Vande Mataram into a test, I wish we spent that energy making India live up to just one line: “Sujalam, Suphalam, Malayaja Sheetalam”- a land blessed with clean, abundant water, rich harvests and pure, fragrant air. That would be the finest tribute to Vande Mataram. 🇮🇳
How good is Better Call Saul? Of its 63 episodes, more than one-eighth score higher than 9.5 on IMDb. More than one-third score higher than 9.0. Not a single one scores lower than 8.0.
The word I most often use to describe it is, against all odds, "beautiful," and I wouldn't say that's true for any other show. Why "against all odds?" Saul Goodman was slime personified in Breaking Bad, truly the lowest of the low and with no layers to him otherwise. By the end of his own story, he was the most complex, most compelling and most sympathetic character in the entire two-series saga.
Better Call Saul made what had heretofore been comic relief the central figure of a tragedy so gripping that you desperately wanted better for him than what you already knew was coming. It took a comic sketch writer/performer and transformed him into a dramatic powerhouse, which even Bob Odenkirk has said was against all odds. It was the sort of prestige TV that you could recommend to both your dad and your mom (which I did, and they both enjoyed it so much that they decided to give Breaking Bad a try, also against all odds). It forever changed the way I perceive mint chocolate chip ice cream, the word "chicanery" and, most especially, the song "The Winner Takes It All" by Abba. It struck such an emotional chord that whenever Bob Odenkirk or Michael McKean grace my screen in some other role, my heart swells with gratitude.
And it did it while contending with all the baggage of a spinoff and all the banality of a prequel. It is a genuine miracle of TV, and while I hesitate to say it's the best, seeing as it's lacking the grand ambition of so many others in the running, I don't think the medium has given us better.
Thank you for saying this…!!
Again - the idea is never for Cricket development! It is basically a real estate induced plan.
Ever since Revanth Reddy became the Chief Minister, his focus has been on one real estate venture called “Bharath Future City”.
This land was originally acquired by the previous government to move all pharma companies away from the city so that the pollution doesn’t affect.
Revanth converted it into a real estate venture.
Despite resistance, despite court cases and order against this conversion - the government is going ahead with it.
Everyday you wake up, you will find a new announcement - somedays it is a metro, sometimes it is Ambani’s Vantara zoo, or a brand new cricket stadium.
Why is the city that is struggling with public transport, losing its Metro expansion to a ghost town called Bharath Future City? No clue!
Why is the city that already has a massive 380 acre zoo getting another one? That too a private Ambani Vantara zoo? No clue.
Why does Hyderabad need another cricket stadium when the existing Uppal Cricket stadium’s bathrooms and stands aren’t even maintained properly???
The questions that Revanth Reddy declines to answer.
Since it is a Congress Government most are just trying to look the other way.
Frankly, Hyderabad which was growing well is currently struggling with these mindless decisions.
@aravind@Srileo03 Fixing urban infra need not be a task relegated to lesser importance. Its a very solvable issue through proper accountability. Why can't it run hand in hand with solving the "bigger" issues
Why are all my BJP friends in a tizzy because of my remark? Yes, our economy is doing well but India's overall debt is not a happy occurrence. Foolish of anyone to defend this! It's embarrassing for a scientist to explain commonsensical economics but here goes (pardon rough and approx figures as writing on the go):
1. India’s public debt is not some ₹270 lakh crore irrelevant figure; the Centre alone owes about ₹201 lakh crore. Add the states and general-government debt is over 80% of GDP, far above the old FRBM ceilings of 40% (Centre) and 60% (Centre plus states) that were supposed to be hit by FY25. Interest already takes 40% of the Centre’s revenue; the FY27 bill is budgeted above ₹14 lakh crore. That is not a footnote. It is the first charge on every tax rupee.
2. The Centre has at least tried to put a share of borrowing into capex. The states have not, uniformly. A growing slice of state borrowing is paying for salaries, power subsidies and unconditional cash transfers; twelve states alone set aside about ₹2 lakh crore for women-centric cash schemes in FY26, not for assets that service the debt. Several high-debt states are, in effect, borrowing to give money away.
3. India is not America. It has no reserve currency, a still-narrow income-tax base, and cannot roll deficits the way the dollar can. Most of the debt is domestic and rupee-denominated, so this is not a classic external-debt crisis. It is a compound-interest and politics problem. Fast nominal growth can shrink the ratio for a while; it cannot indefinitely outrun a 40% interest-to-revenue claim plus election giveaways.
4. If growth slows, the interest bill, state deficits and crowding-out of private credit will produce something problematic: higher real rates, less room for capex, and a fiscal vise that closes just when the next shock arrives.
5. So let us be sensible. Praise the govt for its good policies and be critical of the things that are not right and need to be set right.
6. And @pradip103 and @MumbaichaDon, my brothers, I don't do monkey balancing. And I don't make reels as I am not on Instagram, never have been. So please don't get personal - arguments are never won through getting personal.
7. But I never mind personal barbs from my RW and BJP friends because they are friends and their heart is in the right place. But I do get embarrassed by the eagerness of some of them to make a fool of themselves publicly at times! Cheers and have a great weekend.

Pakistan threatened Lord’s Test boycott after broadcaster Sky Sports telecast interview with Imran Khan’s two sons which was actually recorded at the Lord’s Long Room a day before the Test. PCB wanted SKY not to air the interview during Lunch break else they wouldn’t take the field post Lunch.
The 18-min interview done by Michael Atherton (one of the 21 captains to sign the letter to Pak PM) was shown and Pak did take the field too

Friend offers help with a crucial paperwork. Say no because he openly an “AAPiya”?
Partner loyal, loving, and mostly listens to you. Break up because he’s “bhakt”?
Neighbor offers ride to the hospital at 2 in the morning. Decline because he “sanghi” and you Muslim?
Stuck in a flash-riot, no cabs, best buddy in neighborhood. Call? Or no, because she “Congressi”?
None of these are made up hypotheticals but lived realities of most of us in varying expressions, one being my own and fairly recent (hence the rant).
Point is, how long? And how far? Making an “ism” your entire existence can be edgy cool at 14, but at 40? Don’t you think it sounds a bit emotionally bankrupt? A bit immature?
You are “gen z” and “progressive.” Maybe your parents happen to be conservative. Would you disown them? Is THAT progressive? To abandon family over some “ism”? You’ve known that girl for 7 years. Cut off only because she’s no longer “liberal” enough for you?
Take a pause. You’re racing downhill without brakes toward a very lonesome, unfulfilling life. Slow down before it’s too late.
It’s understandable and perfectly fine to avoid or even hate a random stranger over ideological differences. But doesn’t a loved one deserve a little less intolerance simply because they’re “loved one” for a reason? In fact, sometimes, even strangers rise above such value judgments. Remember the oxygen scramble of the pandemic? Do you think people were filtering help on political affiliations?
Be selfish. Bcause believe it or not, you will die. Hopefully after a long, healthy life, but die you will. And when you do, the only ones mourning you will be your loved ones. Not the ideological champions you sacrificed your all to please. Modi and Rahul Gandhi don’t know you exist. Nehru and Savarkar certainly don’t. And even if they did, they wouldn’t give a fuck. You’re just an unappointed “karyakarta.”
Your friends are precious. Especially at an age where making new ones is hard. Don’t lose them because they disagree with you on Palestine or vote TMC. Neither Palestinians nor Mamata Banerjee have any role to play in your moments.
Have an ideology, you can’t avoid feeling strongly about things around you. But for your own sake, do not let any of that take relationship calls for you. It’s a very morbid path. Nothing good lies where it leads.
Value judgments are good. But not with friends and families. Yes, this is hypocrisy, but live it up, man. The only moral compass that matters in a loved one is if they love us. All else is ephemeral and pointless performance.
I am proud to have cultivated such relationships with people whose ideologis or parts thereof I absolutely abhor. And vice versa, of course. This pride feels awesome. Don’t lose it for ANYTHING.
The tragedy isn't that taxpayers are disappointed with one government.
The tragedy is that many have stopped expecting any government to fundamentally fix the system.
Different elections. Different promises. Same taxpayer.
Income tax. GST. Cesses. Fuel taxes. Stamp duty.
Yet the questions remain:
Where is the accountability? Why does compliance keep getting harder? Why are freebies easier to announce than structural reforms? What did the taxpayer actually get for the last rupee collected?
India doesn't need a government that simply collects more.
We need a system that delivers more.
A democracy becomes fragile when citizens stop asking “Who will fix this?”
and start believing “Nobody will.”
This Independence Day, that's the question worth asking.
Can we rebuild taxpayers' faith in the system?
#IndependenceDay #TaxReform #Taxpayer #indiareels #abolishIncomeTax
To the young Indians reading this on Independence Day: you will be told that loving India loudly is unsophisticated, that patriotism must always come with an apology, that our civilisation is something to be embarrassed about and our history should be remembered only through its failures. Don’t buy it. Read about Madan Lal Dhingra. Read about Khudiram Bose, Bhagat Singh, Birsa Munda, Kanaklata Barua and the thousands whose names never entered our textbooks. They were frighteningly young when they decided India was worth everything. We inherited a freedom we did not have to bleed for. Our responsibility is not to hate those who disagree with us, but to refuse the fashionable cynicism that teaches us to sneer at our own country. Question India. Criticise its governments. Fight its injustices. But never confuse contempt for India with intelligence. Build something. Serve somewhere. Know your history. Love this country enough to improve it. We have one life, and we were lucky enough to be born into a free India. Make yourself worthy of that inheritance. 🇮🇳
If @narendramodi ji has to FIX one thing that would make everyone support him , it would be the municipal system !
Dirty Cities
Garbage laden
With air pollution
Terrible traffic
Noise pollution
Illegal constructions
Blocked nalas
Flooded roads
Pot holes
Man holes
Unresponsive civic bodies
Rickety Infrastructure
Vanishing green cover
Murder of trees
Illegal encroachments
Dengue | Malaria | accidents |
stress leading to cardiac disease
Lack of footpaths leading to lack of exercise so diabetes
Water air Pollution / mercury lead and particulate matter in air causing cancer
One root cause ‘ Corrupt | Inefficient | Incompetent | Self Serving Municipal System of the country !
CITIES are a state subject . States have to manage them but considering BJP has most states , I request Hon’ble PM Shri @narendramodi ji to just crack the whip on the most corrupt system in the country !
If you agree please RT

@aravind The focus has to now be on making our cities clean and livable. Improving civic sense and civic amenities, harsher punishments for offenders.
Its very doable and will make a major difference in our own self image
Imagine a workplace, where you reach at 11am, pour yourself a cup of coffee, reach your desk, then you signal your entire team, they start shouting & sloganeering on the floor. The HR head appears, and suspends office for 3 hours, you guys go out, roam around, come back at 2pm, shout again, HR cancels the entire day. People go home. All of them get full salary.
This is our Parliament.
This is the esoteric bullshit that tries to add shine to what is plainly a dumb, incompetent and corrupt modern society where rustic social order inside homes is getting stronger and urban civic order outside homes is getting wilder. India's chaos does only one function -- it reassures the poor that the nation hasn't left them behind. And this function is purely an accident of incompetence.
