@JNRadio_Glenn@nyjets the difference is that its not just Zach Wilson vs other players heads up as the pick. Its Zach Wilson also vs what the jets could have had if they traded the pick. At a minimum they could have traded with SF for 2 extra 1's and a 3 (MIA got that from 3) maybe more.
@JetUpPod we don't know if AR would even 1) accept to be running mat 2) if he did, not play and theres the 100% reality that RFK won't win in Nov so it would be all over by week 9 anyway
@njrealtornic Team is all in for 2 years. Do whatever you can to make this team a legit contender. Who cares if its bad in 2026/2027. It hasn't been good for almost a generation anyway
@KayvonOjulari This is the most ridiculous fandom trade scenario of all time. Sauce would easily get a 1st rounder+ himself in a trade (probably 2 1's given he has 3 relatively cheap years left). consecutive 1st team all pro to move up 4 spots? are you insane?
@NFL_DovKleiman@statmuse Its cheating to say both teams won, but they did. If you have to pick one its LA though. They won the Super Bowl. That is it. Thats the goal.
@Playlikeajet1 Yeah, Jets fans are acting like JD is committing an egregious error when comparable (or better) players haven't signed yet. I'd argue they should get it done prior to those deals, but still
@uSTADIUM Fields might end up being the better player. He showed he can be a legit all time runner, but hes already in year 3 and been banged up a lot. Give me the unknown of Young and 2 more rookie deal seasons.
@NYJets_Media@AdamSchefter Pass. he hasn't been the same back that was winning rushing titles for several years. DAL should have made Pollard the primary back years ago. Hes done and a distraction team doesnt need
@ZukJets If the choice is JJ or say one of top 3 OL in this year's draft. I'm keeping 13. Also pushes possible extensions down road another year. 2 summers from now could be dealing with AR dead money/new deal, GW extension, breece hall extension, AVT extension if they dont after this yr
@Justin4ocho@BigTicket73@nyjets didn't we go through this last year? Like he slimmed down and looked great then immediately got hurt. I hope for Jets sake hes great. But through his fault or not, hes a bust so far. Can't play 25% of possible games and be anything but
@Gustoon AR has a $15 mil cap hit this year in a trade and 32 next year (with an increasing cap again). Q is on 5th year opt of 9.5. Could offer 4 year extension that is basically 5 year deal of say 5/105 including 5th yr opt. Big signing bonus that actually lower cap hit this yr
@SpyroKush Maybe ZW will benefit, but Jets wont. Wilson's year 3 is burned as qb 2/3. They will decline his 5th year option before year 4. Hes a free agent around time we think AR leaves. Some other team takes flyer on him. At age 32 he hits it big with 88 year old Pete Carool in SEA
@JacobMorley literally every team needing a qb would have done the same. Eagles only kept Hurts and moved back in trade from 3 because Wilson wasn't going to be available. SF would have taken him, and so on. You can blame his lack of development on Jets, but not on the actual pick. Thats lazy
@Justin4ocho in free agency or something. Jordan Love hasn't shown anything to justify that kind of faith and wasn't exactly a cant miss college qb. If I were GB id plan on doing what ATL did last year and take the bad cap hit and move on
@Justin4ocho I guess it depends how GB views this season. If its a soft reset and evaluation of Jordan Love...then take the hit this year, and be ready to go for 24. If they actually think they can be competitive this year in NFC, then I guess they would prefer to spread it and do more
@RajPC1 If it drags, Jets should be in on Lamar. At worst it burns a bridge with Lamar if they go to AR, but who cares at that point? Its not like you are upsetting an agent that has other clients
@Boombearjr@Jason_OTC happened with Watson last year. happens when teams allow players to seek trades like Eagles allowed Slade to try to find another team this past week. With Watson teams had trade in place with HOU before negotiating with Watson. HOU didn't try to change terms later
