The slight problem with close protection, of course, is that the police then keep a log of everywhere you go, and everyone you meet ..
Bit restricting, isn’t it?
Unless you’ve nothing to hide..

This morning in Biddeford, Maine, a 26-year-old man said goodbye to his wife and daughter and left for work. Moments later he was dead, shot in the head by ICE agents, the second man ICE has killed in six days.
ICE is killing our neighbors. ICE cannot be reformed. Abolish ICE.
Wilson: I guarantee you there are 10 reporters in D.C. right now who know exactly what Mitch McConnell’s medical status is. Maybe more.
They’re not reporting it.
We know from people who are very clear that he’s in a certain rehab wing for acute cardiac failure, all this stuff, at the hospital. He is alive. Our source is not able to say if he’s conscious or cogent.
I don’t think the magical 20-minute conversations about Mitch McConnell—you know, “He’s perfectly fine”—are real. I think we’re going to find out all that was a lie because they want to run out the clock on the special election question in Kentucky.
If I’m Andy Beshear, brother, just declare the election. And if they want to prove that Mitch McConnell is alive and well, go do it. But that is not something I think they can prove.
When Joe Biden’s health scares started to mount up, we had 24-hour-a-day coverage. It never stopped. They were beating the White House down every single day about it.
When the July 7 debate happened in 2024, that was a clock that went off because the media drove the story. They pushed and pushed and pushed. They turned over every rock.
We don’t see that coverage about Trump. We don’t see that coverage about McConnell.
i will say lindsey graham being asked by a reporter how mitch mcconnell is doing, answering “i don’t know, i’m going to check right now” and then dying is hilarious
Mamdani: Now, in Adam Sandler’s criminally underrated 2006 film “Click,” Christopher Walken in his role as Morty begs us to “consider the leprechaun.” “He’s always chasing the pot of gold,” Walken says, “but at the end of the day, it’s just cornflakes.”
Whether it’s an internet provider or commercial gym, too many in our City have made and developed the bad habit of disguising cornflakes as gold.
Jack Crozier, whose sister Emma was killed, said: "Rupert Lowe’s father had his pistols taken away. My father had his daughter taken away.
"He knew exactly what happened at Dunblane... the people of Great Yarmouth need to consider if this is who they want representing them."
BBC: "have you ever been to Clacton?"
@CountBinface: "no, because I understand from the current incumbent that is part of how you do the job."
politics is BACK, baby
Nick Robinson to Zia Yusuf: "You say this is all about standing up to the establishment.
"You're a multi-millionaire. You made your money selling luxury helicopter charters and rare wines to the super-wealthy.
"Nigel Farage is a public schoolboy, a former commodities trader who gets £5m gifts from his friends and lives in a 5-storey house next to Buckingham Palace courtesy of a man convicted of fraud.
"Do you really think you are in a position at Reform UK to claim not to be part of the super-wealthy, self-serving establishment?"
Clarification: Sky News was not at the property at 7.41am. As has already been acknowledged, and as shown in the footage from 10.19am, Sky News was outside a property where Mr Farage was registered to vote at the last election. Sky News did not interact with Mr Farage’s daughter.
On a single occasion, we approached the property without a camera operator, identified ourselves as Sky News, and the adult occupant chose not to engage. We were seeking to contact Mr Farage to ask questions about the gift he accepted from Mr Cottrell. This is a well-established and routine journalistic practice when reporting on matters of legitimate public interest.
The footage clearly demonstrates that Sky News did not “hound” or pursue Mr Farage’s daughter. At no stage did we seek to speak to anyone other than Mr Farage in connection with this story.
Not true. Actually The Times took deliberate steps not to reveal where you or your family live
We altered images to remove address details and prevent reverse image searches. We excluded town/village names
Yet you previously posed for pics outside your family home
Hello, I’ve an event for my Muriel Spark biography next Weds (15th) at Waterstones Liverpool. We’ve sold barely any tickets, however, and it might be cancelled as a result.
Please get a ticket if you’re nearby - it’ll be a lot of fun, and I’ll bring the last remaining badges!
