Travelling to Brazil just became a little more complicated for Americans.

US passport holders are now required to obtain a visitor e Visa before travelling to Brazil, ending years of visa free entry. As part of the application process, travellers are generally required to submit standard documents such as passport details, travel information, proof of accommodation and evidence of sufficient financial means. In many cases, this includes bank statements showing access to around $2,000 USD or the equivalent amount.

The policy is based on the principle of reciprocity. Brazilian officials have said the change aligns Brazil's entry rules with the visa requirements that Brazilian citizens face when travelling to the United States.

Supporters argue the move creates a fairer and more balanced system between the two countries.

Others believe additional visa requirements make international travel more expensive and less convenient for tourists.

The change marks a significant shift in travel between the two nations and serves as a reminder that visa policies often reflect diplomatic relationships as much as tourism.

#WATCH | Delhi: On Supreme Court’s clarification on the violence during student protest, Cockroach Janta Party Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das says, "Today, in yet another major victory for the students and the young people of this country, the Supreme Court has clarified that the states, including Delhi and other states, will be at liberty to withdraw the FIRs, or close the FIRs, or file closure reports through any legal method possible.
