I will be attending the ACM CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI 2026), taking place in Barcelona from April 13–17! https://t.co/U1K5Qtlc0N
At the conference, I will present a poster as the lead author and contribute to an oral presentation as a co-author.
I also contributed to an oral presentation by Lin Luo (University of Glasgow), titled “I think this is fair”: Uncovering the Complexities of Stakeholder Decision-Making in AI Fairness Assessment” that explores how non-expert stakeholders consider factors related to AI fairness.
I received my PhD from the University of Tokyo!
My dissertation is titled: “Development and Practice of a Research and Development Process Based on the Concept of 'Responsible Research and Innovation': A Case Study on a Web Search System that Reflects People’s Values.”
The title of the paper is "Reflexive Co-Design: A Participatory Design Protocol for Socially Responsible Information Technology Based on Responsible Research and Innovation." I tried to connect Co-Design and Responsible Research and Innovation, focusing on web search technology.
My paper has been published in the International Journal of Human-Computer Studies. You can download it for free for 50 days (until August 3) at the following link. https://t.co/XcG59CwDKA
Last Friday, I joined the launch event of RAIUK keystone project, PHAWM
@PHAWM_project . Great experience and exciting talks! I found an interesting icon like myself 😆
Today, I gave a presentation as an invited speaker at the ECCV 2024 Workshop - The Dark Side of Generative AIs and Beyond https://t.co/v07b7iORVm. I'm happy to share our ideas about the societal/ethical effect of GenAI.
I am pleased to announce that I have become a member of the panel of experts for measures/laws on AI to be established by the Japanese government. The Prime Minister has presented four principles regarding the discussion in the panel. https://t.co/W5ayJEI9QX
📣We are organizing ECCV WS "Dark Side of GenAI and Beyond"!
Anyone who wanna discuss ethical & social implications of gen AI and their mathematical remedies is encouraged to join.
Please spread the word!

A co-authored paper published in the ACM Journal on Responsible Computing examines, through crowdsourcing, when and who non-experts think should be involved in the development of AI systems. https://t.co/72K77DRot3
I found that a web article in Forbes shares research that compares AI fairness among the UK, the US, and Japan, which was conducted by @DrSimoneStumpf and our team members around 2020. https://t.co/KXw8g0dnf9
Thank you for giving me such an opportunity!
I don't know how close we can get to the final goal by continuing our research, but I would be more than happy if it is introduced in various places and the circle of people who think about how to support the difference expands.
In a world where advanced and huge technological service, such as generative AI, are brought mainly from the U.S., how to support the differences in values among countries, regions, and cultures is a big research theme. Fairness is a concept with such differences.
