We the member students of the Disability Alliance [DA] and the Disability Support Group [DSG], stand in unison to condemn the comments made by senior bureaucrat Ms. Smitha Sabharwal.
Ms. Sabharwal’s comments are regressive, ableist and deeply maligning towards (1/7)
that bring out the best in each person and mitigate structural barriers.
We believe that people must take accountability for such statements, especially when they are given wide ranging platforms due to their power and privilege. (6/7)

We've observed that the Training Centre building has only one flight of stairs. Although there are alternative routes to avoid the stairs, such as taking the lift by entering the training centre and using the lift to reach the floor to access gate 0. (1/2)
This is inconvenient; the entry from the lower ground floor to the lift closes at night leaving only the stairs that lead to gate 0. Additionally, some steps leading to the establishment are chipped and require urgent repair to ensure unrestricted mobility for SAP students. (2/2)
By incorporating 9 out of 14 demands from the Disability Manifesto for and by the People with Disabilities, @cpimspeak’s manifesto makes a significant step towards empowerment and inclusion. This demonstrates the party’s a commitment to mainstreaming disability discourse and policymaking, to create a more inclusive society.
On behalf of NCPEDP, NDN, NCRPD, 15000 people and 600 organisations who worked in developing ~ Manifesto for & by Citizens with Disabilities ~ we extend our gratitude to CPI-M.
We had shared our demands with @ComradeDRaja , General Secretary, @CPI_National , @pinarayivijayan , Chief Minister, Kerala and @Jitendra1958 , Secretary CPIM, Tripura State Committee.

Until sometime back, case laws on the Learning Management System platform at NLSIU were available only in PDF format. This was a major academic accessibility hurdle for visually impaired students, students with print disabilities, dyslexia, etc. + (1/3)
After continuous proposals to and negotiations with the administration and the library, the cases were
made available in MS Word format or PDF formats extracted from more accessible sources like Manupatra, Westlaw and Lexis for most reading material across batches + (2/3)
