@GBB1128505@MarkDavies67 Also, never disputed his professional ability as a lawyer. Simply saying a panel with no connection wouldn’t have given Saints anywhere to go. I can assure you it’s not easy reading for us! Agreed on pre-hearing point (I’ve said that)!
@GBB1128505@MarkDavies67 Of course he was employed - he played for them! But two things can be true. Saints clearly in wrong. But also, given the stakes, a panel comprised of people with no connection to any party would have been much cleaner. No?
@MarkDavies67 Not saying it would have affected the outcome, but I cant believe someone with a history of employment with a party that was arguing it should directly benefit, was appointed, given what was at stake. In any other circumstance it would be a conflict.
@cr1962stockton@DuncanHolley How do you think the intern’s name came out?! A highly inconvenient point for Boro fans when they accuse Saints of throwing him under a bus.
@LouSirr101 He was and that’s clearly wrong. But if you’re going to give a lecture on morality, why don’t you ask yourself how the kids name got in the press? Was that really necessary?!
@mhardysport If true, the lack of self awareness is staggering, but not surprising. Whilst I’m ashamed of Saints, I’d rather be caught for spying than be used for sports washing by a petrostate.
@TheFUTSBC@SteveGrant1983@AlfieHouseEcho He clearly thought that being thrown out of the PO wasn’t a feasible option and it was a simple misdemeanour. The naivety is astonishing, but maybe not surprising given the spying happened on his watch anyway?!
@henrywinter TE is rightfully taking heat for putting a young, inexperienced intern under pressure. But TE is also young and inexperienced. The unbeaten run doesn’t change that. Where was his compliance support? Pinning it solely on TE risks the SFC ignoring more fundamental questions.
@Steve_Crossman Tonda is in the wrong. No doubt. But he is also a relatively young person (33). Saints need to ask themselves much deeper questions. After appointing such a young manager, where was his support inc in relation to compliance?
@CoySaints@AdamBlackmore I was thinking there is rightfully a lot of sympathy for a young intern, but Tonda is also incredibly young and at the start of his career. He clearly in the wrong, but where was the support for him from the club, including in relation to compliance?
@AdamBlackmore How deep did this go? Why weren’t people asking where the intern was? Who was signing his expenses off? Was there a lack of corporate accountability or were more departments in on it? I’m not sure which is worse.
@henrywinter Saints banged to rights and badly let fans and players down. But it is also a team that lost in the semi final of the FA Cup to a team facing 115 charges. I look forward to your colleagues calling for a swift end to that case, in the same manner you did here.
@AlfieHouseEcho How can you put right the amount of time, effort, emotion, money and lost opportunity that’s gone into this season, particularly after the two relegations? I feel nothing but shame being a Saints fan.
