NEW (via @nmfishbowlcom!): My 6-year-long public records lawsuit against the University of New Mexico Foundation (@unmfund) & @UNMLoboClub now goes before N.M. Supreme Court, after prevailing at district and appellate levels. We just filed our brief:

😀NEWS: New Mexico Court of Appeals affirms a district court's ruling for me in my public records (IPRA) lawsuits against @UNMFund & @UNMLoboClub, which argued that private non-profits that solely exist to support a public university (@UNM) are subject to public disclosure laws.
Wow -- @UNM has thus far allocated $12,517,252 of its federal Covid relief funds (CARES ACT and HEERF II) to athletics, according to school memos. In-state rival @NMSU recently caught flack for the $3.5M in Covid funds its athletic department has used. #GoLobos#NCAA
News — In amicus brief, the @NewMexicoOAG throws support behind my public records lawsuit against @UNMFund, which had previously tried to claim the AG’s tacit support of its non-disclosure position in its appeal brief. Whoops! (via @ABQJournal) #FOIA

@garchsr@ABQJournal@SteveVirgen So, sure, if you want to add in $1.3M of student fees and $1.2M of NCAA distribution (which explicitly has nothing to do with football), and half the media rights fee (lol), and a million in state aprops, and the Q2 earnings for Amazon...they’re in the black. Definitely.
@garchsr@ABQJournal@SteveVirgen Inaccurate? That’s kind. Steve took UNM’s completely spurious math FB claim, which he once reported on with at least a soupçon of scrutiny, and now renders it as fact.

Dear @UNMFund,
Thank you for only further undermining your appeal in my IPRA case. Not sure we needed any help, but appreciate it, anyway.
Sincerely,
Litigant

I spent several months during fall/winter of 2016 diving deep into the career-long faults and foibles of Noodles, interviewing almost two dozen sources and eventually publishing about 10,000 words to that account. You can read that here:

A little different here than the vast majority of coach statements that have been posted on social media. This one from UNM Lobos hoops coach Paul Weir...

.@GeoffGrammer writes up Elijah Brown's (@_eb4_) tweet accusing former UNM coach Craig Brown of being a racist. Nobody comments, other than @EddieNunezAD, who wasn't AD at the time, but who says he's unaware of claims being formally made against Neal.

Brown is now years removed from UNM and a professional basketball player in his own right. He is not under Neal's putative control. Neal, meanwhile, is still employed as a D1 college basketball coach. If @_eb4_ sincerely believes the truth of what he tweeted, substantiate it.

Elijah effectively identified Craig Neal as a racist. Do you want to address that? Because it seems quite a bit more salient than whether he once bought you shoes, all due respect.
Seeing Lobo fans slander my guy @_eb4_ name isn’t sitting well with me. To say none of his teammates liked him is blasphemous. If you wanna know the kind of guy he was, he let me and @adamQcumber NikeID a pair of shoes each, and then he paid for him off his own scholly check
