Two takeaways from NM election results tonight that are simultaneously true: 1. NM is a badly gerrymandered state, possibly one of the worst in the county. 2. The @NewMexicoGOP is one of the worst run state parties in the county. #nmpol#nmleg
Will NM rate payers be expected to continue to fund the multi-million dollar executive pay for @PNMtalk CEO while she has 2 CEO jobs?... @NMPRC1#nmpol#abq

If you remove Santa Fe County, the edge Dems have over the GOP in NM early and absentee voting almost disappears. Gabe is going to need a big turnout in Dona Ana, but there are still a lot of GOP election day votes in the SE Red Counties. #nmpol
While it may be funny to watch NM Dems troll the Trump campaign, it may not be wise to do in a state with where the Federal government could easily "relocate" thousands of the best paying jobs in state if Trump wins... #nmpol
Albuquerque @MayorKeller also addressed allegations Democrats made it difficult for @realDonaldTrump to find a venue to hold a campaign rally in the Duke City. #nmpol
Kamala will win NM, but down ballot will be interesting, especially if Rs have a good election day turnout, they are performing better than at the same point in 2020 & 2022. #NMCD2 is going to be close. #nmpol
With one week to go until Election Day, here are latest #NM early and absentee vote counts. A total of 444,521 votes have now been cast -- about 32.7% of all registered voters.
Democrats - 213,741 (48.1%)
Republicans - 163,074 (36.7%)
DTS/independents - 62,979 (14.2%)

Special Session begins tomorrow, state lawmakers will have an opportunity to approve 5 public safety bills that will reduce crime and improve the justice system response. If they’ll pass the bills, I’ll sign them and New Mexicans will be safer as a result.
@PatDavisNM Yes, that should have been apparent a while ago. Will you apologize for compelling KRQE to run the "Fuck the NRA" ad? Or is it just everyone else who needs to calm down?
While this decision won't make major headlines, the repercussions for NM agriculture are huge. At some point, we are going to have to have a serious debate over if there is a path to a sustainable future for NM ag. #nmleg#nmpol

The people at @MeowWolf are happy to claim their progressive bona fides by canceling a show by a Jew, but one the budget is getting tight, the union folks are the first to get laid off... #nmpol
. @DDDNM is so terrified of the unhoused being in her neighborhood, she would rather kids not have a playground than take a risk that it be used by parts of society she is too superior to even look at. #nmpol
Nice to see #Abq get credit for some of the good things happening. We are long overdue to build up, not out, but we are finally embracing what the future requires. #nmpol

@RussContreras What makes this even more depressing is NM is home to two large national labs with highly educated workforces. Los Alamos County has nation leading PhDs per capita. If you removed those workforces, our stats would be even more abysmal.
Over the weekend, APD Chief Harold Medina had reportedly stopped at a homeless encampment off Central when a fight broke out nearby and someone fired a shot.
Medina ran a red light to get away from the gunfire, crashing into another driver. https://t.co/LJLdWsHnt2
Because I and others fought scorched earth this session, we get to keep our ARs. Stopping the “high-capacity magazine” ban was one of my proudest accomplishments of our caucus this session. One of the many victories!
BREAKING: Frustrated with the Legislature's lack of progress on her public safety priorities during the 30-day session, @GovMLG said Thursday she's considering calling lawmakers back to Santa Fe for a special session.
