@brookstweetz It was pretty terrible for immersion in every scene without the expanded ratio, and the expansion gimmick was nowhere near as immersive as something like 1.43 imax is able to be without also ruining the non expanded parts of the movie
@brookstweetz I saw The Creator in this format and I can assure you its worse than this would lead you to believe.
Only select parts were on the walls. The walls are also projector screens, and as a result were pretty reflective, so the room was bright as hell the even when the walls were off
We're building a Moon Base!
@NASAMoonBase will serve as a habitat where astronauts live and work during long-term science missions.
Join us at 2pm ET on Tuesday, May 26, for a live news event where we’ll share updates on our lunar exploration plans: https://t.co/IJXA7xYwju
@BadMouse101 The land invasion of Japan that would have been carried out had the atomic bombs not been used was going to arming it's civilians to fight, and was forecasted to be so bloody that we manufactured so many purple hearts that we are still using that supply of meals today.
@oliver_drk Been watching the pokemon anime lately, and the rights for that show are so splintered you'd need like 10 different streaming services. Using a PC let's me just pull up one site (the legality of which I will neither confirm nor deny) and watch it with one click. No apps necessary
@oliver_drk I don't have a full on dedicated desktop for it, but whenever I watch TV I do just plug my laptop in over HDMI and use a wireless mouse and kb. Being able to pull up any site you want, without worrying if they have a smart TV app, and type on real keys, not a shitty osk, is great
@DUSKdev I loved being able to tie a finger sitting on the pad to activating gyro. Used that a lot when I still used my steam controller back in the day. The capacitive sensors in the grips and sticks will probably take over that role on the new one, but it'll still be great for menus.
If the NGDV has a million fans, then I am one of them. If the NGDV has ten fans, then I am one of them. If the NGDV has only one fan then that is me. If the NGDV has no fans, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against the NGDV, then I am against the world.
Welcome home Reid, Victor, Christina, and Jeremy! 🫶
The Artemis II astronauts have splashed down at 8:07pm ET (0007 UTC April 11), bringing their historic 10-day mission around the Moon to an end.
@esjesjesj Huh? I dislike Elon as much as the next guy, but he has no reason to be anything but ecstatic about this. Spacex already has the contract to build a lander. He knows that he's getting this amount of good press x10000 in 2 years from being the ship that brings them to the surface
@COSMlCSYD They all probably heard a teacher or relative say "you can't hear anything in space" at some point and don't really understand the mechanics of why yet. I'm sure they'll get it once they grow up a bit.
@COSMlCSYD Dude look at their pfps. They're literal children it's ok for them to not understand how spaceflight actually works yet. Most kids understanding of stuff is pretty much just parroting what they've heard adults say and not really thinking much more about it beyond that.
There's so much shit going on in the world, and it feels so beautiful. Please let this help remind the world that we are all in this together. We can do so much if we work together, for all mankind. Those hands on that cave wall belonged to people just like us.
Last night, Victor Glover said that this mission shows what we can do not if we put our differences aside, but instead bring our differences together and use them to accomplish great things. Not in spite of, but *because* of our differences and the unique strengths they give us.
