The world is so filled with NPC energy...

Everyone watches the same shit, reads the same books, listens to the same podcasts, follows the same Twitter accounts etc.

No one thinks for themselves, there's not an original thought in sight 🙄

I think the problem is we live in a world flooded with hyper immersive streams of content (text, audio, video)

And all of it in one way or another appeals to our egos and insecurities...

It says you can be early, you can be contrarian, you can be cool, you can be successful, all you have to do is keep sitting there and passively consuming this fairy tale.

And we do it, we sit there lost in the noise, sleepwalking through life, pretending to be whoever we want to be without ever actually doing anything.

This is why there is so much wisdom around the mental model of treating life like a video game because you remove yourself from the moment-to-moment chaos + at least consider the environment you find yourself in...

Which then changes your behaviour because you fall out of the Matrix and start reckoning with what really is.

But most people prefer to stay plugged in, they prefer the Ready Player One slavery of consistent content that is ultimately fake versus real life + real problems + real solutions + real impact.

It terrifies me that all you have to do to be a top performer in this existence is wake up, face your life, and start doing your own thinking...

But so few of us are actually willing to try.
