.@DDOTDC@311DCgov another typical day at 3rd & M NE: both bike lanes and crosswalk blocked by construction vehicles, even though they have already taken public space (road and sidewalk) on 3rd, 4th, and M.
3rd Street connection to Union Market District is open (where Florida Ave steps dead-ended). Market Terminal area starting to look like a neighborhood. And check out that detail on new office building.
In the early months, it was moot because no one was driving. But as we have settled into the pandemic, the need to drive to a preschool drop-off or a curbside pickup from a store outside the neighborhood has become more commonplace. But finding parking on your return is not.
Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🦃
Union Market addicts (raises hand): open till 1pm today.
OPEN: Peregrine & District Doughnut (now), La Jambe (10am)
CLOSED: South Block, Bergen, Lou Lou, Pluma
Listen up people - if you want your favorite places to survive the cold season, you need to keep supporting places when the temperature drops. Bring a jacket, gloves, hat, earmuffs, thick socks, a blanket, another jacket. Order a hot drink, then get another. Just keep going.
@UnionMarketDC it’s the perfect weather to work remotely from your outdoor seating (and drink our weight in coffee), but the public WiFi has been down for the majority of the week. Not sure who on site has the ability to fix, so flagging it here.
