My heart weeps for our community in #Ghana following the passing of the stringent anti-LGBTQ law a few hours ago. This legislation, one of the most severe in Africa, not only perpetuates the punishment of LGBTQ+ individuals but also criminalises the vital support and advocacy for these communities. It’s a dark day for human rights in Ghana, and my thoughts are with everyone who now faces even more significant challenges in living their truth.

As the Director General of @UKPC_UG , I’ve witnessed firsthand the power of community and the resilience of those fighting for their right to love and exist freely. The passage of this law is a stark reminder of the battles still ahead in the journey toward equality and justice.

Now, more than ever, our brothers and sisters in Ghana need our support and solidarity. We must rally to amplify their voices and challenge this affront to human dignity. The fight for human rights knows no borders, and we stand with the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana, advocating for a world where everyone’s rights are protected and cherished.

I urge the global community, leaders, and human rights advocates to join us in this critical moment. Let’s work tirelessly to reverse this regression and reaffirm our commitment to human rights for all, regardless of who they love.
