See this foolish rat
Is it Southerners that are killing the peoples of plateau State?
Is it Southerners that are burning villages and slaughtering women and children in Plateau State and other parts of the Middle Belt?
As the sound of Middle Belt sounds bad, we like it like that
Why should we maintain a British 1914 Northern protectorate creation which forcefully joined various war’ing ethnic groups and seeks to benefit just a few?

What is this new trend of seeing old people and using their age as a “gotcha” moment?
You will get old too and considering Nigerias life expectancy, you might not reach his age
Now unto the topic of the counter coup.
How can you kill the Sultan of Sokoto, the great-grandson of Uthman Dan Fodio, in the January 1966 coup and you think T.Y. Danjuma, a Chamba man from the Middle Belt, (from a different ethnicity and religion)
was going to stop Hausa and Fulani soldiers who were on a revenge mission from getting to Ironsi? 😅
Those of you who have read partial history did not read that even people who showed sympathy at the time were being killed?? So what miracle do you want one individual to perform?
Those soldiers were boiling, they had waited for months for Ironsi to execute the January coup plotters.
Instead, he transferred them to the East, where they continued receiving their salaries and were even praised as heroes.
These were the people Danjuma was supposedly going to control with his magic wand,
even though he did not belong to their unit and they had their own Adjutant, Paiko giving orders?
I don’t understand where many of you read your history
And it’s even the notorious 4th Battalion for that matter.
People who raided Benin prison, took out prisoners and executed them?? TY Danjuma is to stop them? lol
You wanted him to be Superman abi?
Abeg leave the man alone.
No good historian who reads in detail about the counter coup is expecting anyone to stopp the 4th battalion from anything
They had gone rogue for months.
I know it is heaping on Middle Belt season but you need to find something else
But I don't understand
How can Arewa be killing and still be insisting that we are part of them
It's like their screws are loose
U want unity and u resort to killing.
Abeg let everyone go and bear their ancestors names
A government is only as powerful as the people and institutions that support it. Having an army, laws and civil servants means little if they no longer obey or support it.
The same applies to Arewa or the North. Its power depends on how much people identify with it and accept it.
That is why the emergence of a distinct Middle Belt identity unsettles them. The more we identify as Middle Belt, the less power they have to speak for us or claim us as part of their bloc and it terrifies them
The claim that Nigeria initiated the 1968 dialogue and subsequently reneged on it is simply false
The 1968 negotiations were an African diplomatic initiative, not a Nigerian peace offer as you claim.
The talks in Addis Ababa were conducted under the auspices of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), chaired by Ethiopia's Emperor Haile Selassie.
They followed earlier negotiations at Niamey, Niger, in July 1968.
At Niamey, both sides agreed to pursue discussions on a permanent settlement, to stop hostilities and the delivery of relief supplies.
The Addis Ababa conference opened on 5 August 1968.
Turning an international mediation event into a Nigerian initiative is just absurd.
Secondly, Nigeria did submit a peace proposal. But it was conditional on Biafra abandoning independence.
The Nigerian delegation, led by Chief Anthony Enahoro, presented a nine-point proposal.
It included provisions for:
an end to secession through a joint declaration affirming Nigerian unity, an overwhelmingly Igbo police force in the affected areas, an Igbo-led regional administration, an external force to provide security guarantees, a general amnesty, with arrangements for reintegrating public servants and a constitutional conference to discuss Nigeria's future.
But there was a fundamental limitation: the proposal required Biafra to abandon its claim to independence.
That condition was not a minor detail. It concerned the very question over which the war was being fought.
So which part did the federal government renege?
On 9 August 1968, the Biafran delegation, led by Professor Eni Njoku, rejected the Nigerian plan.
Biafra's counterproposal called for recognition of its independence, the lifting of the Nigerian blockade, the withdrawal of federal troops to their pre-war positions, an immediate ceasefire and an international force to supervise it.
Biafra also proposed that the OAU consider a plebiscite in contested areas and compensation for wartime damage.
Are you alleging that Anthony Enahoro accepted these conditions and the Federal Government reneged on them? Do you have evidence of this?
On 13 August, Nigeria obviously rejected the Biafran proposal. Enahoro maintained that a settlement which did not preserve Nigeria's unity and territorial integrity was unacceptable.
In your second point, the failure of negotiations does not prove that Nigeria's objective was the annihilation of the Igbo.
The claim that Nigeria was more interested in annihilating Biafra than negotiating peace is an assertion about the federal government's overriding intention.
It cannot be established merely by pointing to the failure of the Addis Ababa conference with two sides who varied in their positions.
But three distinct questions must not be collapsed into one:
Did the federal government seek to defeat Biafra militarily? Yes.
Did federal military operations and the blockade contribute to catastrophic civilian suffering? Yes.
Does this, by itself, establish that the government's overriding objective was the physical annihilation of the Igbo people? No.
The third proposition requires evidence of intent.
Thirdly, The war itself was not the beginning of the crisis.
A serious historical account cannot begin in 1968, or even in January 1967.
The crisis had developed through the collapse of the First Republic, the January 1966 coup, and the July 1966 counter-coup
Another huge factor is that there were concerns of non-Igbo minorities within the former Eastern Region, many of whom had their own longstanding demands for separate states.
The federal government's creation of 12 states in May 1967, shortly before Biafra's declaration of independence, was partly intended to address minority demands and weaken the territorial basis of secession which worked and weakened the claim. It would have been a different issue if the minority support was high in these areas
This guy is doing severe damage to Atiku. Abubakar
That’s why you never underestimate minority groups
We keep seeing this mistake repeatedly throughout history
MUSLIMS ARE MORE THAN CHRISTIANS IN PLATEAU, YET WE’RE BEING MARGINALISED” — Sheikh Jingir Sparks Fresh Controversy By Rejecting Plateau’s Christian Identity
— Sheikh Yahaya Jingir, making a disputed claim about the religious population of Plateau State
The Rev. Dr. Sylvester Dachomo is Deputy General Secretary of(COCIN).
Headquartered in Jos, Plateau State, COCIN has more than 10 million members worldwide and says it has been among the hardest hit by radical Islamist attacks in Nigeria
When I saw it, I was so glad. The Plateau people stood tall yesterday in their defense against the children of evil who wanted them to identify as cursed “Northerners”
It shows the consciousness of the Plateau people.
Stage two; we need to discuss how to strategically approach these killings in our region and put these devils attacking our people in their place
Those of us in law know about illegal and void contracts
Wike’s son is 2.1 million dollars richer.
How can you ask the court to enforce an illegal contract meant as a bribe for land
Arewa 0 - South South 1
The colonial authorities built some facilities in Nigeria because they knew that they lived here and would need it
Why can’t our Nigerian leaders think like that.
That they may need these facilities in the nearest future
“Prior to the British coming, there was Nothing like “North”
North is a British creation. A colonial project.
It stemmed from the Northern protectorate creation of 1914.
Ahmadu Bello merely tried to change it into a political party in 1948. It is not an identity
What similarity do we share with you?Nothing
We were literally fighting you in a jihad before the British came as separate kingdoms!
There were different empires and kingdoms separate from you with cultures and practices separate from you prior to British colonialism.
Even till date, your people are still attacking our people, going into villages, unaliving women and children like the jihad of old.
We have been unable to coexist with you for more than 400 years.
It isn’t rocket science! It shows that we are simply different people. Only some of you keep trying to force this
Even when it comes to leadership many of you may shout “we are all Arewa” or “North”- until it is time for leadership positions and appointments, then your leaders remember how separate we are.
We know we are different so there is no need promoting fake solidarity
Even the killings by the Arewa on the Middle Belt groups show that, Arewa do not see enough commonality enough not to execute such criminality and barbarism against the Middle Belt groups.
And many of you do not protest about it. Most of your people support it and give excuses about most of the killings happening in our region
We seek decolonization from the British and to remove the forced assimilationist policies of Arewa.
I thought you guys were against western imperialism? Why are you holding into a British creation? What do you have in common with Yoruba in Kogi and Kwara?
Lastly, if we were the same with you, you would not be trying to assimilate us at every turn,
trying to erase our traditional stools and eliminate our cultures
Nasir Elrufai would not change names of traditional stools, balkanize chiefdoms and place Fulani as district heads of people from other groups
The concept of trying to assimilate shows that we aren’t the same with you
If we are one, forced assimilation would not be happening
So this funny imitation of Godfrey over the black identity does not apply here
We have reliable security reports that over 2,000 armed men are trying to infiltrate Plateau State and attack on multiple fronts
