Everyone take a nice deep breath as you walk outside this morning or perhaps open up the windows in the house. This is the first time since 2019 that we've had a morning low temp below 60° in August.

Louisa County has even dropped into the upper 40s. Do you smell pumpkin spice?

A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for parts of Delaware, District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, Virginia and West Virginia until 10 PM EDT

Today's forecast looks more like October 4th than August 4th! Temps will struggle to even reach 80 and a lot of places will see off and on showers all day. Don't worry.. August will return tomorrow!

[NWS Wakefield @NWSWakefieldVA]

Happy August! We're expecting an overall pleasant day, but there could be isolated showers/thunderstorms near the coast. In the southeast, a couple storms may have damaging wind gusts.
