The sacrifices made by Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) emphasise his commitment to righteousness. He inspires people to uphold truth in the face of adversity.
Tribute to Dr Idris.
We live in a society where men of conscience and honor are better understood and appreciated when they are long gone or lost.Dr Idris Abdulaziz Dutsen Tanshi was a restless soul who spoke the inconvenient truth and walked alone in his paths and trenches. He cast the light of knowledge on the grey and dark spaces of our political and spiritual clime.
He was a courageous man who lived an accomplished life of service to the human spirit. His voice was discomforting to the powers and the establishment. He audaciously spared no one in his sermons for equity and justice. He was a one man battalion and an outstanding commander of the faithful. His words were as sharp as a blade and piercing like a spear. He irritated a society comfortable with injustice. He kept the leaders awake and kept his fellow Imams on their feet.
He was a man whose spirit was strengthened by the experience of his incarceration. He was unbowed in the face of persecution. He was a man who can thank those who came to identify with him in his moment of travails but warn them against pleading for his freedom. He raised the torch and became the compass for objection and resistance. He was a non conformist in the pursuit of his truth enshrined in his faith.
He was a dogged and distinguished spiritual combatant who used the powers of religious knowledge to question and challenge authority. He fought chains of battles within and without the realm of his mission, and never https://t.co/bsEhB4jVGH life,he was largely misunderstood and in death he is well appreciated.
Dr Idris bowed out with dignity and grace. The nation has lost an irrepressible soul and indomitable spirit.
May his soul rest in Aljanna firdausi.
Amin.

FASTING TIPS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS
Extracted from:
Department of Internal Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia).
In general for golden citizens and also for all groups.
Easy and useful.
โ During sahur: Don't drink tea and coffee because these two drinks make your metabolism run fast so your thirst will not be hydrated quickly.
โ It is recommended to take food that are slow to digest and high in fiber. For example wheat, nuts, seeds, brown rice.
โ When breaking fast, it is recommended to take dates because they contain sugar, fiber, carbohydrates, potassium and magnesium. The body's nutrients lost during fasting can slowly be filled by eating dates.
โ Eating bananas when breaking fast is very good for our bodies, because bananas are a source of potassium, magnesium and carbohydrates.
โ Reduce fried food when breaking fast, because fat cells will increase in the body. Senior citizens are more likely to suffer from diseases caused by fat, such as heart disease, blocked blood vessels and high blood pressure.
โ Take less food that is more quickly suppressed, such as sugar, because you feel thirsty quickly during fasting.
โ Drink lots of water or fruit juice between breaking fast and before going to bed.
The goal is so that the body contains more fluids and can carry out activities the next day smoothly and energetically.
โ Don't drink cold & splashy water because it fills you up quickly. Where the nutritious food taken will decrease because it cannot enter the body.
Please share this information with all Muslim friends, so that we stay healthy in worship.
Ramadhan Mubarak.
Happy fasting and other acts of worship in the month of Ramadan. May we all be healthy and devout and willing to carry it out.

Why Do Muslims Have Lower Cancer Rates Than Almost Any Other Subset of The Population?
Recently, I wrote about my admiration for Islam, prophet Muhammad, Sallallahu Alayhi Wasalaam, and Muslims, and my piece, which went viral, raised many questions even as it answered some.
The majority of those who raised queries wanted to know what benefit there was to my assertion that Islam gives directions for almost every aspect of life from birth to death and that clarity tends to give Muslims stability.
In essence, they wanted to know the benefits of such meticulous guidelines for life, if any.
There are quite a few, but let me focus on just one area: wellbeing.
Muslims tend to have far lower cancer rates than the rest of the population. Assume I am lying, and fact-check me. Western countries dominate the cancer tables at the high end, and Islamic nations, especially Arab states, dominate from the bottom. Globally, about 198 people out of every 100,000 people will get cancer. In Australia, 468 people out of 100,000 will get cancer. In Saudi Arabia, it is 96 people out of 100,000.
What is the reason behind this disparity? There are several. But to summarise, it is down to lifestyle. Perhaps the most critical lifestyle factor is intermittent fasting during Ramadan. Again, please assume I am lying and fact-check me.
It is not that other faiths do not fast. They do. But it is often not as systematic and methodical as the fasts that Muslims observe, except Orthodox Christians, which is perhaps why Orthodox Christian nations, like Ethiopia, have low cancer rates, coupled with the fact that their diet is almost the same as that of Arab Muslims.
Another primary reason is the fact that Muslims abstain from alcohol and some foods that are not the healthiest and may be slightly carcinogenic, such as pork.
And with female reproductive health, Muslim women are less likely to develop cervical cancer or HPV. This is linked to lifestyle choices, as they are also more likely than other females to get married as virgins, report fewer sexual partners than women of other faiths and have a tendency to breastfeed their babies, which is scientifically proven to reduce breast cancer.
However, perhaps the starkest evidence is in male reproductive health.
The risk of developing prostate cancer is 27% for Black males, 12% for White males, and 7% for Asian males in the MENA Region.
Please assume I am lying and fact-check me.
While one out of every eight White males on Earth will have protester cancer, which is the leading form of cancer in men, one out of four Black men will develop prostate cancer. The rate in men of African origin is double that of White men. Asians are the least likely to develop prostate cancer, with a probability of one in thirteen.
What is behind this troubling statistic?
If men and women are to be honest, they will accept that there are very few men able to be sexually faithful to only one woman. And why? It is not because men are dogs or men are scum. The truth is that men are naturally polygamous. And forcing men into monogamy will always lead to crises in society and cause physical and psychological distress to both genders.
That is why if you take the Middle East and North Africa, which are the most polygamous regions of the world, what you find is that they also have the lowest prostate cancer rates for men. Go ahead and fact-check me.
And besides polygamy, Muslims have practices, such as ablution, hand washing, and using water to clean up after defecation rather than toilet paper, which generally contribute to more effective hygiene, contrary to what you might think.
Of course, there should be room for modernity, but when modernity becomes an absurdity, Islam even has specific regulations for that.
Countries that abandon their traditional ways of life and adopt Western lifestyles almost always see a sudden increase in cancer rates. Again, assume I am lying and fact-check me.
How President Obasanjo and Femi Fani-Kayode Set Up Colonel Gaddafi
Yesterday, I wrote an account of history, which was disputed by Nigeria's former Foreign Minister, and my esteemed elders Alhaji Sule Lamido. However, when I provided indisputable data based evidence to back up my accounts, the highly esteemed Alhaji Lamido, a former Governor of Jigawa, publicly admitted that my recollection of the events were accurate.
Thereafter, I received multiple calls from the dramatis personae, asking me to expand on the history class, and expose more detail of the event hidden from the Nigerian public.
The recent breach of protocol by the Burkinabe President, Captain Ibrahim Traorรฉ, whereby he approached and met the newly sworn in Ghanaian President, John Mahama, with a weapon, once again demonstrates the difference between Nigeria and Ghana and vindicates Nigeria's position as the regional superpower. Such a thing can never happen in Nigeria.
No less a person than Muammar Gaddafi tried that in Nigeria. Twice during the Obasanjo administration. And on both occasions, he was stopped and cut to size.
The first time was during the African Heads of Government Summit on Roll Back Malaria, which held on Tuesday, April 25, 2000.
Colonel Gaddafi's female bodyguards tried to enter the International Conference Center, Abuja, with their weapons, but where stopped by President Obasanjo's CSO, who had an argument with them and disarmed them at gunpoint before they were allowed into the venue with Colonel Gaddafi to join other African leaders.
The second incident was more dramatic. And was actually a set up. It was during the Africa-South America Summit which held in November of 2006 in Abuja.
Colonel Gaddafi had arrived on Tuesday, 28 November 2006, with about five huge planes which offloaded a total of fifty cars or thereabouts. The problem is that these cars were loaded with weapons.
Nigerian officials at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport told Mr. Gaddafi and his over 200 guards that they could not leave the airport either their weapons and would have put them back on their planes under the supervision of the Nigerian Army.
Colonel Gaddafi was incensed. He said since he was not being allowed to leave the airport with his cars filled with weapons, he would walk into Abuja.
Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, who was detailed by President Obasanjo to receive Colonel Gaddafi was concerned and called the President who told him to tell Gaddafi he was on his way to the airport.
When President Obasanjo arrived, he played with Gaddafi and told him he was on his way to Lagos, but that the incident would be resolved by his personal representative, Minister Fani-Kayode.
The President then took Mr. Fani-Kayode aside and whispered into his ear in Lukumi Yoruba to the effect that 'You are in charge. Play with him. Be polite and diplomatic. But those weapons are not entering Abuja'.
President Obasanjo then went on his merry way to Lagos, leaving chief Fani-Kayode to argue back and fourth with Colonel Gaddafi, who threatened to return to Libya, to which Chief Fani-Kayode said, 'We would rather have you stay, but if you choose to go, we understand.'
And when Gaddafi saw how resolute Chief Fani-Kayode was, he had to blink and fold and they returned ALL their weapons to their planes under the supervision of the Nigerian Army.
That is how you show that you are a sovereign nation. Not by having a thirty six year old unelected junta leader of Burkina Faso, who has turned his country into a client state of Russia, do to you in your own country what he would never in a million years do to Russia's Vladimir Putin.
By the way, when Colonel Gaddafi was allowed into Abuja, he was escorted to the guest house arranged for him by Nigeria. The first thing his guards did was to slaughter a ram and spill the blood in front of the door. Once that happened, Colonel Gaddafi stepped over the blood into the house (Defence House) and would not allow anyone else enter after him.
A thread of my top 10 books (not in order)
1. The Prophet (Khalil Gibran): do you want to know how to think? Do you want to know what love and death mean? Read this. One of two books that inspired me to write my first book.
Dear Elvis,
Thank you for your feedback. I can't. And anybody on Earth who tells you they can explain it fully should check themselves. It is not everything that we know or are permitted to know. Some things are unlawful for man to know, while still in the body. That is why it is called faith. If we know it, it will not be faith. It will be science.
When we die, God will reveal what He chooses to reveal to us. But until then, we should only say what we know.
What I know from Scripture is that Yeshua is not God. He is the Son of God. He is also the Way to God. There is no Trinity. And Yeshua is under and subject to God.
Beyond that, anything I say would be from my flesh. It is attempts to explain what has not been explained to us or reveal what has not been revealed to us that lead to doctrines of men, like the Trinity, Christmas, Easter and Purgatory, amongst others.
Thanks again, and may God bless you.
Stop hating your enemies. They have a role to play in your life. Without them, your life would be depressingly boring. What would Tom be without Jerry? Will you watch a James Bond movie without a Bond enemy? If not for satan, how many of you will run to God? Watch Usain Bolt running. He looks back, and when he sees his rival close by, he runs faster. If not for the lion that runs fast, the antelope would not run faster. Without that opponent, Usain Bolt wouldn't have broken records. Enemies are as essential to life as oxygen. Without them, you will never fulfil your potential or your life's purpose.
