@deaflibertarian Yet they don’t ask, “Do you have your cleaning supplies locked away? Do you keep your car keys secure where your kids can’t get them and take it for a joy ride?” Etc etc etc.
@VascoDG2@DefiyantlyFree I would encourage you to serve as a poll watcher or poll worker, then you can see how the process works. It’s very educational.
@deaflibertarian Son has special needs. Told him “You could probably live off the system - but you won’t. You WILL be a contributing member of society.” He works a good job, pays taxes, budgets. Doing great. People live up - or down - to our expectations of them.
@DutchRojas@unheardparent I used to belong to a membership-type of doctor. He had agreements with various providers so it was cheaper for me to pay cash for a bone density scan than pay the deductible through my insurance.
@BasedTorba Was home sick in bed for 9 months when I was 9 years old. Had a tutor come twice/week for 45 minutes each time. Easily kept up with my 4th grade class and entered 5th grade, no problem. That’s when I realized what a waste of time the school day is, and this was back in 1969-70.
@robbystarbuck It’s also about how can you trust your safety (or your children’s) with people who say these things. For instance, cops have been fired for posts because ppl question their safety and fairness when these kinds of things are said.
@DiaryofaSickGrl “You’re having an affair, aren’t you.” Because I said I was happy in my marriage and with my job. He said it’s impossible to be happy with both.
@Brink_Thinker No. On weekends I just had to be home before midnight 😁 I didn’t have to be home for dinner unless I wanted dinner, then be home by 5:30 or no dinner, no making myself a separate dinner.
@manwhohasitall I literally had an older woman tell me something like this when I said I was was so tired & stressed. “Get up at 4am & get everything done before your husband wakes up.” 🙄
