Never forget, getting to the top is not as hard as staying at the top.
Talent is never enough, talent is not the only thing you need to succeed in football. In fact, I dare say it’s the least thing. You need discipline above all.
Iwobi has stayed grounded. God has blessed him with a wonderful career free of injuries also. He’s been very consistent, which is even the hardest thing.
Coming out of Hale End and breaking into Arsenal’s first team, he was never loaned out, he was ready from the onset. Throughout his career, he was always a starter.
Even when Ancelloti had his reservations, he ended up playing him. Iwobi would play wing back, anywhere in midfield, he could play on the wings comfortably.
What a player. Never in the news for nonsense. Even when we blamed him in the national team a while ago, he kept his head up.
Iwobi is a proper professional and this is who aspiring footballers should learn from.

Two truths can coexist.
English coaches can be underwhelming and English coaches can be given far less patience and trust than foreign coaches.
Look at Lampard vs Arteta.
They took over Chelsea and Arsenal around the same period. Today, Arteta is a league winner while Lampard is fighting to keep Coventry in the Premier League.
Yet Lampard was the better coach during their Chelsea days. Sometimes the club environment matters more than nationality.
But Vincent Kompany is the perfect example of the double standard.
He got Burnley promoted, then relegated them the following season. Instead of being written off, people understood the massive quality gap and Bayern Munich still trusted him.
Lampard’s route has arguably been even tougher.
He inherited Coventry in 17th, helped them survive, then got them promoted to the Premier League for the first time in 25 years.
Now they’ve started badly against Arsenal and Hull, with Man City next. Suddenly, Lampard is being labelled a poor coach.
But look at the squad.
Coventry are likely to be in a relegation battle regardless of who coaches them. Avoiding relegation would be a massive achievement for Lampard.
The question is: would people give an English coach the same benefit of the doubt they gave Kompany?
César Azpilicueta — one of the most loyal players Chelsea have ever had. 💙
Signed for just €8m from Marseille in 2012 as Ivanović’s backup. Ivanović’s brilliance made game time difficult, but Azpi never complained, never pushed for a move. He simply waited for his opportunity.
RDM was sacked. Benítez came in and gave his countryman a chance. Azpi grabbed it with both hands.
Mourinho arrived in 2014, fell out with Ashley Cole and moved Azpi to LB. He played it like he had been there his whole life.
“If you give me 11 Azpilicuetas, I will win every trophy available.”
Conte arrived in 2016/17 and switched to three at the back. Azpi became a CB and, once again, looked born for the role.
Sarri returned Chelsea to a back four. Azpi went back to RB after years away and still dominated.
Then came Tuchel, another three-at-the-back system, with Azpi switching between RWB and LCB while Reece James developed.
Even when Frank Lampard — his former teammate — became his manager, Azpi remained the ultimate professional.
In 2023, after 11 incredible years, he returned home to Spain with Chelsea’s blessing.
