The debt is on the HR and the Mgt if only they had a proper Payroll tool like @paycita where they can complete off-boarding processes for any employee who is leaving/resigning from the company.

This saves them unneccessary losses like this.

My office is still paying a ₦200,000 monthly salary to a colleague who resigned six months ago.

He resigned properly, but his name was never removed from the payroll. He never informed the company that he was still receiving his usual salary after leaving. Over the past six months, he has received a total of ₦1.2 million.

Our manager tracked him down and asked him to refund the ₦1.2 million to the company. He refused, insisting that it wasn't his fault since he had resigned properly.

Now, our boss is considering involving the police in the matter.

If you were in his position, would you return the money? Or is the company entirely responsible for its own mistake?
