@DRUNKKZ3 Having a lot of fun so far but I am a bit concerned with how much time it takes to finish some of the challenges that unlock new content, as well as level my weapons up. I don’t foresee being able to experience all the content, basically ever at this rate.
11 years later and Assassin’s Creed Unity’s Crowd Bulk System is still the best crowd system I've ever seen.
NPCs near the player had 300 animation bones, acted independently, and reacted in full detail, while distant ones had 11 bones and moved in simplified groups that followed shared rules. They would blend up and down as you got closer.
This sorcery along with AI scaling, kept THOUSANDS of characters moving semi-naturally, creating the illusion of living crowds without giving us garbage performance. What I would give to see this tech in more modern games, Final Fantasy towns especially.
The general unlock process in Battlefield 6 is too slow.
I understand wanting to make it challenging for players to get the best stuff, but I'm dreading how long it's going to take to bring just a few guns up to a decent level for attachments etc, and I'm an engaged player.
Those poor casuals 😫
#Borderlands4 was a long, and rewarding journey where I learned so much. I’m thankful to have had this opportunity, and I hope I can continue with this career.
I have always watched @ThreatInteract videos with an open mind and will continue to do so. I have seen every video and agree with some aspects, but lately the delivery of information and the attitude is just gotten so out of hand. It feels like a chore to sit through. Just me?
The most exhausting thing about this discourse is, when you open those engines there is Nothing - zero. It's a void with sky. Artists spend YEARS creating, lighting, composting and populating those worlds, and instead of crediting them, people just say, "oh, it's the engine"

@Halo Honestly how does this make it out the door. I understand not everything is in the artists hands but I’ve seen more competent texturing from YouTube tutorials. Not even mentioning the PBR here since the colour is enough to pick on.
@andrewpprice @raskolnikovLV Anyone who says yes is kidding themselves. SpeedTree is a procedural modelling program so no it’s not getting you the intricate details you would only get via sculpting and unwrapping. You can get “close” enough using displacement maps and extremely dense geometry.
