My second full-length album is out, a live-in-studio series of Dear Samson songs in acoustic rock duo mode. Take a lil' listen: https://t.co/Bg4YswSu5P
Joyce has been my favorite Twitter account for years at this point, not only because the points she makes are consistently thoughtful and resonant, they also often feature casually beautiful language. "Will weep to see the past enshrined" sticks out as stunning iambic quadrameter
the average person's memory is notoriously unreliable & the claim to have "seen with your own eyes" makes no difference. indeed, many of our personal memories are memories of photographs, not the actual occasions which have entirely vanished.
that is why--guess what!--a written language came into existence. what we call "history." what we call "records"--"libraries."
no human brain can be expected to remember much of anything precisely. if you keep a journal or a diary, you will at least have a personal record of some fraction of your life. & take as many pictures as you can--decades from now, you will weep to see the past enshrined.
don't be dense, video games are a combined art form involving writing, music, and imagery, no different than films are.
both games and films, however, can of course be products first, where artistry is not the intent. fortunately, your failure to delineate what is and is not art does not objectively determine what is and is not art
@RobinPoedev@ShitpostRock if this is you saying that you can have good or shit games completely divorced from "game design," that's great. if you're saying that "bad" game design isn't real but "shit" game design transcends the notion of "bad" and is in fact real, that's incredible
@RobinPoedev I hacked away at Z1 over a single night when it came out as a 3DS Ambassador VC title and to this day it's one of my fondest gaming memories
@RobinPoedev I feel like a "gamer" is at the enthusiast level, but the real answer you might be looking for is that anyone can levy any opinion at anything without self-identifying or being externally identified as part of a certain audience. The onus is on creators to filter through feedback
