Hospitals make sharing records difficult. Even if they do share, hospitals often do not trust results from other hospitals, necessitating duplicate (expensive) procedures. Or, you know, this situation:
I have #LongHauler COVID w confirmed lung damage but my pulmonologist can't get a look at my lungs because the insurance we could afford requires I go to a different hospital for CT scans and they won't share images. Thank God we kept govt out of healthcare huh? #MedicareForAll
Engrossing data viz from @propublica on predicted effects of climate change. Nice balance of maps and charts with just a touch of interactivity. https://t.co/ogXM5IMjnR
I've been thinking a lot about what companies can scrape off of user movements, head/gaze trackers, and inside-out scanning of play areas. Timely read on privacy issues in XR: https://t.co/Wrdk5mjcX9
Pleased to receive my PhDigital Bootcamp certificate! A great fellowship for all things emerging media and a great group of scholars. Thanks to @txst@sjmctxst@CindyRoyal and @knightfdn for the experience! #phdigitalbootcamp
We're in for a new type of #OctoberSurprise for this #election. Even if video of a candidate is later proven to be false, many won't see the correction & followup reporting. The "original" #deepfake will stick. We're about to see #deepfakes hit the mainstream in a really bad way.
Extremely disappointed to see this, especially after the efforts of #NotAgainSU and dozens of faculty to address systemic racism at #SyracuseUniversity. WE CAN DO BETTER, WE MUST DO BETTER
Visualizing population density by rendering census data in 3D columns. Since most cities literally stack people on top of each other, this seems fitting. #nhdata@puddingviz https://t.co/qeA5weQJzX
Perspective. Fly over the entire US-Mexico border in this WaPo visualization. I'm struck by how winding the Rio Grande is, which seems like a challenge since it makes up about half the length of the border. @washingtonpost#nhdata https://t.co/BYzsIQKF5h
Fascinating! NYT maps data from Microsoft on the footprints of every building in the United States. Great data viz invites exploration and sparks questions just as much as it offers answers. #nhdata https://t.co/yWUWa3YqhL
National Geographic employs a choropleth map to visualize race distribution across the US. Important that they attach contextual stories, as choropleths can distort other factors, such as population density. #nhdata https://t.co/XfYzr3IRfy
Revisiting this NYT Upshot map of how much sunlight each NYC street receives through the year. Data viz makes clear that policy decisions cast long shadows. #nhdata https://t.co/E1DAE8dlDl
