#TomHiddleston auditioning for Thor. 😳😊
-Tom: ''I, actually put on 25 pounds before my screen test, and then Kenneth Branagh took me out for breakfast and said: 'Actually, I think you're a better fit for Loki. Would you mind losing all that weight you've put on?' 😂😂
Two films, two performances, two accents, one actor...
Calling all Branagh-heads: on Sunday, July 5, you have the opportunity to see the celebrated actor in HAMLET (1996) on 70mm 🎞️ at 12pm immediately followed by TENET (2020) on 70mm 🎞️ at 5:15pm. 🎟️: https://t.co/5k1VlE0S5h
“Such stuff as dreams are made on...”
When the RSC announced Kenneth Branagh was going to do The Tempest (directed by Richard Eyre, no less!), even one of Prospero’s eponymous storms wouldn’t stop me from seeing it!
Watching Branagh play one of my dream roles was truly magical.
@PaulKendall2 Do you mean today? I gave back 2 front row circle seats as my son & daughter in law couldn’t get time off work. Maybe you were one of the two men who took them! It was superb: Branagh is the best living male stage actor we have. Going back for The Cherry Orchard.
To George and Laura, Bill and Hillary — we're grateful for your friendship, counsel, and devotion to this country. And to Joe and Jill, thank you for being on this journey with us.
Sat with friend & colleague JUDI DENCH, KENNETH BRANAGH becomes visibly moved when talking about the nature of loss & grief.
He then he turns to a line from Shakespeare’s ‘Hamlet’…
TEA WITH JUDI DENCH (2025)
On my way home from seeing Kenneth Branagh in The Tempest @TheRSC Stratford. What a performance, such poetry in his voice. His soliloquy (“Ye elves of hills…”) was so moving, I realised I had been holding my breath.
Well worth queuing online for hours for the tickets!
Happy 67th Birthday to Hugh Laurie!
While filming FLIGHT OF THE PHOENIX in Namibia, Laurie recorded his audition for HOUSE in a hotel bathroom because it had the best lighting. The homemade tape helped him land the role that would define a generation.
Hugh Laurie channeled Dr. Gregory House himself when responding to criticism of the medical drama on which he starred for eight years: 'It wasn't meant for you.' https://t.co/LHxXkT2yYo
A HAUNTING IN VENICE is my favorite of Kenneth Branagh’s three Agatha Christie adaptations. The horror helps the cinematography, production design & sound work to shine & allows Branagh to dive deeper into Poirot making this the most captivating examination of the character yet.
