These Baileys are hanging tough through Drought2K20. Been over thirty days with no water but sure could use a good soaking. Praying for rain daily and hoping the good Lord sees fit to deliver us a shower soon.
An old man is selling watermelons by the side of the road.
His sign reads:
1 for $3
3 for $10
A young man stops and buys one watermelon.
“That’ll be $3,” says the old man.
The young man then buys a second watermelon. And then a third.
After paying another $3 each time, the young man picks up his watermelons and starts to walk away.
Then he turns back, grinning proudly.
“Hey old man,” he says, “you realize I just bought three watermelons for $9 instead of $10? Maybe business isn’t your thing.”
The old man smiles and shakes his head.
“Funny… every time somebody comes by, they buy three watermelons instead of one… and then try to teach me business.”
I hope you all see. Supply and demand is not what matters
Back to back to back to back all time record soybean crops in the world
And prices rise because. People want to own something real when bombs fly
A strong, prosperous nation depends on investing in young farmers who fuel it, because without them, there is no food on our tables and no future for our country.
Watch my remarks from the first day of the Farm Bill markup:
We are pleased to introduce H.R. 2043, the Agricultural Commodities Price Enhancement Act, which aims to increase the reference prices for seed cotton, peanuts, corn, soybeans, and wheat.
@ronlee1975 I will plant half of last years acres for the simple fact that it’s hard to make cotton look economical. An abysmal $20/ac net return just won’t cut it.
@ronlee1975 I’m the small acre guy with a premium 7760. Hate to say it but I’d be better off not planting cotton and just making my payment. Stand to lose a lot less money.
Making tractors look great again. 2001 8410 looks as good if not better than the day it was brand new. Do yourself a huge favor and buy Protect Systems kit.
North Carolina, as someone who loves NC agriculture and is a small farmer, I beg you NOT to vote for Sarah Taber. She may talk with a lot of words, but she has no clue about realities facing food systems. Don’t buy the hype and lies , vote Troxler. #NCPol
If you are relying on the federal government for help and support…..good luck. The people of North Carolina will have to do this own there own and it is happening. I have numerous friends that have been mobilized since day one in western North Carolina and are helping.
@SarahTaber_bww From what I gather you seem to only be concerned about a portion of the AG industry in North Carolina. There is room for everyone but there is no place in our industry for exclusion because it doesn’t fit one’s narrative.
