SARA’S THEATRICS AIMED TO DIVERT ATTENTION FROM HER PLUNDER OF CONFIDENTIAL FUNDS

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s latest stunt, in the House of Representatives premises, no less, is a desperate attempt to divert the public’s attention from the emerging evidence in the House investigation that shows how she may have plundered hundreds of millions in public funds in 2022 and 2023.

Aside from COA’s notice of disallowances in the amount of P73 billion, the House investigations have revealed spurious liquidation reports and fabricated receipts involving up to P112.5 million in confidential funds in the Office of the Vice President alone. Much more appears to have been disbursed illegally in the DepEd secretary’s office.

Duterte can cry politics all she wants but at the end of the day, It is her duty to explain these and other irregularities to Congress and the people. She should stop hiding behind her staff and face her accusers head on. And if it is true that she was involved in other irregularities with First Lady Liza Marcos or any member of the Congress, then she can say so at the next hearing of the Good Government Committee of the House, under oath and in full view of the public.

In my decades of following Philippine politics, I have never seen someone who is as bad as Vice President Sara Duterte! Not only is she not really performing well — she has billions worth of COA flags, alleged malversation funds and her outright bad behavior!

Entitled is such an understatement. If you ask me…  she is a spoiled brat who is so used to getting what she wants when she wants it. Sadly, former President Duterte can no longer grant her wishes and those seated are not interested to give in to her whims. She’s acting as if everything she is asking for is her birthright!

In the latest episode of the Sara Duterte-meltdown, she’s staying inside the office of Congressman Pulong Duterte, why? Because she wants to stay with her Chief of Staff, Atty. Zuleika Lopez. Wait! What?

Yes! I am just as confused as you are! If you watch the last public hearing of the House Blue Ribbon Committee, Atty. Zuleika Lopez acted as if she’s not privy to a lot of basic things! She may be the only Chief of Staff I know who is not privy to the documents being signed by the principal.

Furthermore, Atty. Zuleika Lopez said that for nine years as City Administrator under Sara Duterte, the tasks of the committee’s concern were delegated to her assistant city administrator. As if she’s not trusted with those basic tasks!

She even denied being handpicked by the Vice President! Despite being one of the four high ranking Davao City staff who joined the Office of Vice President when VP Sara won!

Atty. Zuleika Lopez was asked numerous times about her relationship with Vice President Sara Duterte, if her answers to the committee were true —- she wouldn’t dare ask the Vice President to accompany her inside the detention cell! And the VP Sara will not break rules and protocol to stay for her.

Seriously! There is no one to blame here but the Vice President! If she attended the public hearing and answered the questions of the legislators —- none of these will happen. Attend the hearing on Monday, encourage your SDOs to join you!

And please! Go home! No one is buying your “I’m a victim” narrative! Kasalanan mo ito lahat, Ma’am!

'MGA KAIBIGAN'? SENATORS CALL FOR HIGHER OVP BUDGET

Several senators have publicly expressed their support for increasing the Office of the Vice President's (OVP) budget beyond the amount approved by the House of Representatives, citing the vice president's critical role in addressing public needs.

Sen. Joel Villanueva revealed on Friday, November 22, that he and other senators favor increasing the OVP's budget, proposing an additional ₱100-150 million. Villanueva argued that the significant reduction of the OVP's budget by half was unjustified.

Previously, Villanueva acknowledged the House's decision to reduce the OVP's funding but expressed concern over cutting it by more than half. While he noted that respecting the House's budget decision is not legally mandated, he emphasized the importance of upholding institutional traditions.

Sen. Win Gatchalian, in a radio interview on November 16, highlighted the OVP's essential role in addressing the public's needs. "Kapag umiikot ang isang vice president [sa] mga kababayan natin, tutulong ka dahil vice president ka," he said, underscoring the importance of equipping the office to assist Filipinos nationwide.

Sen. Bato Dela Rosa signaled his intent to propose amendments during Senate deliberations on November 13, stating, "I'm going to introduce some amendments to the OVP budget."

Sen. Bong Go also advocated for restoring the OVP's funds as proposed in the National Expenditure Program (NEP) for 2025. "Nananawagan po sana ako na sana po'y madagdagan o maibalik ang pondo na naaprobahan sa NEP," he urged, highlighting the need for adequate resources to enable the vice president to perform her duties effectively.

Senate President Pro Tempore Jinggoy Estrada had earlier questioned how the OVP could operate effectively with a drastically reduced budget. He advocated for restoring the proposed funding, emphasizing the importance of respecting the vice president's position as the second-highest official in the country. #BantayBudget2025

Kabataan Partylist Rep. Raoul Manuel questioned the Marcos administration's relief efforts following ACT-CIS Partylist Rep. Erwin Tulfo's donation of 500 sacks of rice to typhoon victims in Naga and to ex-VP Leni Robredo's Angat Buhay Foundation.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter) on October 25, Manuel noted that a government official chose to entrust aid to an NGO rather than government agencies, calling it a reflection of what he sees as the administration's shortcomings.
