CNG buses that will run on a single route that will take one hour before filling up and going an reaching your destination in almost an hour can never be solution.

This buses are available in Kaduna the run from command to rigachikun in the morning and afternoon, nobody even like using them.

Nepal changed its government through a major uprising about a year ago and brought in a new leadership that many citizens strongly supported. The new government came in with an ambitious reform agenda, including efforts to tackle corruption and improve governance.

But guess what? Those same citizens are already protesting again.

Why? Because many people expect reforms to produce immediate results—as if rebuilding an economy is like switching on a light.

This is where I see a similarity between Nepal and Nigeria.

Both countries have citizens who are understandably frustrated by economic hardship, but there is also a tendency to underestimate how long meaningful reforms take to produce tangible improvements in people’s daily lives.

You cannot spend decades building structural problems and expect a new government to dismantle them in a few months.

A country doesn’t become prosperous because it changes its leader. It becomes prosperous when it builds strong institutions, productive industries, infrastructure, human capital and policies that are sustained long enough to produce results.

Leadership can change overnight. Economic realities cannot.

Citizens have every right to demand accountability and vote out incompetent leaders. But if we keep changing governments every time reforms become painful, we may end up spending decades restarting the process instead of allowing good policies to mature.

The real ignorance is not demanding better leadership. It is believing that leadership change alone can magically fix decades of accumulated problems.

Nigeria needs reforms. Nepal needs reforms. But both countries also need something many citizens underestimate: patience, policy consistency, institutional stability and time.

You cannot plant a tree today and demand shade tomorrow.

This is the price of oil for the past 1 week. Why is the price of petrol in Nigeria still above N1,200 per liter. This is the main reason some Nigerians were against the monopolistic tendency of Dangote being extendedto oil refining. The same happened with Cement prices..... The offensive nature of this is that Tinubu administration hiding under the pretext of liberalisation failed to realise that it is greed like this that is messing up all its so called reforms. For God sake when are we going to see the benefit of oil boom? This is an oil boom era if we budgeted $65 per barrel and it has hovered average $82 this year. We saw it under Shagari, Babangida, Abacha and Obasanjo. In as much as energy cost is up the roof like this, there is no way Tinubu economic policies will have any beneficiary effects. All these propaganda of making Nigerians to believe that Tinubu is a reformist, hard and tough decision maker, bla bla bla is rather nonsensical. It will continue to breed poverty, hunger, deprivation and hopelessness in the face of the so called "renewed hope". If you like put 1 million Senator Yari, Nigerians will remember this in 2027

Her name is Kyerna Jonathan. She is 35 years old. Her story is one of raw courage, resilience, and a mother’s ultimate sacrifice.

On Monday, August 17th, 2026, armed terrorists speaking Fulani and chanting “Allahu Akhbar” invaded Bin Mper village in Kombun District, Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, Nigeria. They came in swarms, and her home was the first they broke into.

Her husband, Jonathan Ishaku, was keeping watch outside. With no weapon to defend his family and no time to get them out, he ran into a nearby cornfield, praying the attackers would pass over his house. They did not. Their mission was to leave no survivors.

They shot off the door locks and stormed the room where Kyerna lay sleeping with her five children, firing round after round from automatic rifles.

With seconds to act, Kyerna made a choice. She threw herself over her two youngest children who were sleeping beside her bed, using her own body as a shield.

The gunmen kept firing for several minutes, hitting her multiple times in the back before leaving her for dead.

When rescuers arrived minutes later, they found Kyerna bleeding heavily and unable to move. But beneath her, the two children she had covered were completely unharmed.

Tragically, she did not have time to reach her three other children. They were killed in the attack. They were among the 25 people buried the following morning in Bin Mper village.

Kyerna survived. She was rushed to the hospital where she is currently receiving treatment for her injuries a mother who took the bullets meant for her children and lived to tell it.
