I will try to share excerpts as I continue reading the translation of Imaam al-Waaqidi's Conquest of Syria
May Allah Ta'ala Reward Mawlana @ sulayman_Kindi for rendering such an important khidmah to Jihaad and Islam
'I love Judaism, and I love the Jewish people' — Michigan Democratic Senate primary winner Abdul El-Sayed
'AIPAC and Israel are not the same as Judaism and the Jewish people... I call bullsh*t'
I met a young man in Qargha dam today, he was selling samosas. He said he is from Takhar, and he is in Kabul for work. He lives in Pul e Khishtie, and walks to Qargha dam everyday. He gets the samosas from a shop in Pul e Khishtie and sells it in Qargha to holiday goers.
While talking to him, I zoned out from time to time, thinking about the challenges he is going through, while trying not to expose the feelings that was overwhelming me.
So I said, you are stronger than most of these athletes, from Pul e Khishtie to Qargha is a long distance, and you complete it everyday. It is impressive. May Allah (swt) give you more strength and stamina and endurance.
He walks 3-4 hours to get to Qargha on foot, but he could catch a taxi, so I asked, and he said there will be nothing left if he does that. I was overwhelmed once again.
The difficulties, the challenges, the tests, not all of us are capable of going through them, not all of us are that strong, not all of us that resilient, not all of us are that driven, yet Allah (swt) chooses some of His servants to carry these burdens with quiet patience, and in that choice there is a deep mercy.
This young man from Takhar walks those long hours every day, not because the road is easy, but because he trusts that Allah sees every step and will not let his effort go to waste. While many of us might fold under half the weight he carries, he keeps moving, selling his samosas with a steady heart, knowing that rizq comes only from the One who provides.
I looked at him and felt hope rise in me again. Allah (swt) does not test a soul beyond what it can bear, and for those who remain steadfast, the reward is never far.
May Allah (swt) increase this brother’s strength, open doors of ease for him, and turn these hard days into a means of closeness to Him. And may Allah (swt) remind the rest of us, whenever we feel overwhelmed by smaller trials, that true resilience is a gift that Allah places in the hearts of those who simply refuse to give up.
700 tons of explosives.
Israel detonated 700 tons of explosives beneath Beaufort Castle in South Lebanon, in the middle of the night.
A 900-year-old Crusader castle that UNESCO just listed as endangered heritage.
There are some facts about This Mujaahid Saahib that would make modern muslims kick themselves out of Islam
Most "commentators" on Islam are absurdly poor in knowledge. They disseminate as if they have oceans of knowledge, yet they have less than the mist on a pair of spectacles
Al-Mughira bin Shu'bah was asked about women, and he said:
"Daughters of the paternal uncle are best in consolation and sympathy; foreign women yield the most noble children; and marrying close relatives is like hitting heads with a black iron bar."
Most ḥuffāẓ read a daily wird and still feel their ḥifẓ slipping.
They finish a juzʾ a day, thirty days a month, year after year, and somehow the Qurʾān gets weaker rather than firmer.
The reason is that a wird does one job. It keeps the text moving through your mouth.
It does nothing for the picture of the muṣḥaf in your head, nothing for your Arabic, and nothing for meaning.
So I stopped treating recitation as a single daily task and split it into four khatmāt running at the same time, each with one job.
This takes me about two and a half hours a day.
Khatmah 1: the eyes
One hour, early in the morning. You read the muṣḥaf with your eyes across as much of the Qurʾān as you can get through.
The point is not recitation.
The point is that after enough rounds you know where an āyah sits on the page: left or right, top, middle or bottom etc.,
You must actually read with the eyes because your memory will try to take over.
You will find your eyes drifting off the line while your mouth carries on. The moment you catch that, go back and re-read the passage properly.
This is the discipline of Khatmah 1 and it's harder than it sounds.
Untrained, expect two or three juz in the hour. With repetition you'll get to around six.
At that rate it’s one Khatmah every five days.
One rule: USE the same muṣḥaf every single time. Don’t change it up.
Khatmah 2: retention and reflection
45 minutes. I do this on my lunch break.
Recite half a juzʾ from memory and record it.
Takes about 15 minutes once you're used to it.
Then play it back at 1.5x, following in the muṣḥaf, and log every mistake in a spreadsheet with these columns:
Khatmah no. | Hizb no. | Sūrah | Error | Correction
Build a second tab that counts errors per sūrah, per hizb, and per khatmah.
Do it yourself or get an AI to write the formulas.
After three or four cycles you'll be looking at a list of your own weak spots ranked by frequency.
Then open a document and write five lessons from that hizb. Next cycle, when you return to the same hizb, the five must be new.
Half a juzʾ a day gives you a Khatmah every two months. And you have a written record of every error along with pages of reflections that grow each khatmah.
Khatmah 3: Arabic and qirāʾāt
Thirty minutes in the evening. One page a day.
Study from Three angles: naḥw, ṣarf, mufradāt. Add qirāʾāt if you've studied it.
If your Arabic isn't yet strong enough to read it comfortably, paste the relevant page into Claude and ask it to explain the iʿrāb and ṣarf in your language. Treat the AI as a translator of what's on the page, not a source.
Study both, then close everything.
Open a blank document and write out what you understood without looking.
Then go back to the book, and in a different colour, fill in what you missed.
One page a day means this khatmah takes about twenty months. But that’s good.
Khatmah 4: your wird
Whatever you already read. I do a juzʾ a day, which suits my schedule.
I don't give it a fixed slot, I fit it wherever it lands. Often in ṣalāh.
When you miss days
You will. Travel, illness, work, a newborn.
The rule I follow: never restart a khatmah, never try to catch up.
Pick up exactly where you stopped and carry on.
A khatmah that took nine weeks instead of eight is still a khatmah.
When I don’t have the time, I
run Khatmah 2 and my wird.
They are my NON NEGOTIABLES.
Keep going up the chain. Will you seek divine correction?
This idea that men have sullied the transmission of Islam is a direct attack on infallabality of transmission (Surah 15, Aayah 9)
Our tragedy as Muslim women is that men interpreted Islam for us and we accepted their interpretation. Muslim men are not more knowledgeable than Muslim women. Both are required to study their religion.
Sixteen months after this photograph was taken, the woman second from the left put money into a sixty million dollar round for the host's longevity company. He had described the dinner, at the time, as forming organically among friends of friends.
June 2024, at Bryan Johnson's house. Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kris Jenner, a podcast host and a plastic surgeon. A dinner about not dying, with a plastic surgeon at the table. He filmed it and posted it himself.
October 2025, the money lands. Sixty million from Kim Kardashian, Naval Ravikant, Alex Hormozi, Ari Emanuel and the Winklevoss twins. A chief executive is hired.
Now read his record as what it is, which is a recall notice.
A litre of his seventeen year old son's plasma, run into his own arm in front of the world's press. No benefit found. Withdrawn.
Growth hormone to regrow his thymus. Pressure inside the skull rising, blood sugar climbing. Withdrawn.
Five years of rapamycin, which he called the most aggressive protocol in the industry. Judged in 2024 to be doing him net harm. Withdrawn.
Over a hundred supplements a day, now around thirty. Seventy products, gone without a statement.
Every one of those was announced as the answer before it was tested as a question. That is the part to hold onto. He did not run these quietly and report back. He filmed them, branded them, sold the protocol by subscription, and let an audience of strangers copy a man who was still finding out. The correction always arrived after the purchase.
And each retraction was cheap, because it cost him nothing but pride. He has now sold that too.
Blueprint is a subscription, a meal delivery arm, a merch line and an app. Kim Kardashian did not wire in sixty million to be told next spring that the powder does not work.
A man can change his mind. A stack has a subscriber base.
He was diagnosed in July with autoimmune gastritis, an incurable condition in which the immune system dismantles the acid-producing cells of the stomach. My stomach is eating itself, he wrote. He attributed it to how he ate before the protocol, and to the stress of being a father of three.
Every failed intervention was the intervention's fault. The one failure inside his own body was his childhood diet's fault, and his children's. Five years, two million a year, thirty doctors, and the protocol has never once been on trial.
He is not the man who ran the experiment so you would not have to.
He is the man who sold the results before they came in.
I used to pray in a Masjid with a Sudani imaam. After every jumu'ah he would say, "There is a brother/sister with x qualifications looking for work."
I thought that was a great way at building a strong, self-sufficient community.
It is a sign of severe emasculation that THIS is the sum total of what one extracted from this incident.
In a beautiful garden, a cockroach will find decaying matter, a butterfly will find sweet nectar.
We must strive to derive good from good.
@Azmatul51794319 Don't tell the twitter ukhtis this. They need a car, a property to their name, and their luxurious lifestyle or you are not providing them proper "nafaqah".
Afghanistan is one of the worst destinations to visit if you are looking for casual sex, prostitution, gambling, drug abuse, or other degenerate entertainment.
But Afghanistan is one of the best destinations to visit if you are looking to experience culture, history, food, and wild adventures.
The greatest attraction in Afghanistan is its people, the same people who defeated two of the most powerful empires in human history. The Buddhas carved on a mountain, the Minaret of Jam, the turquoise lakes of Band-e Amir, and the Blue Mosque of Mazar-i-Sharif are all a sideshow.
Afghanistan itself is an open air museum, a gave yard of empires. Wherever you go, the rusted hulks of Soviet and American war machines litter the landscape. A living reminder that human resolve can overcome even the most sophisticated technology.
In the end, Afghanistan is a classroom of hard won knowledge and wisdom, a place that teaches the limits of power and the enduring strength of a people who refuse to be broken.
Name one population in history that got richer and chose to eat more lentils.
I have looked. There isn't one.
Post-war Japan got rich and invented a grading system for beef fat.
South Korea got rich and made grilling meat at the table a national ritual.
China got rich and went from under ten kilos of meat a head to over sixty in a single lifetime.
Ireland got rich and put a joint on the Sunday table where the potato had been.
Britain got rich in the 1800s and the working man's whole ambition was beef.
America got rich and made the steak the measure of a good day.
The Gulf states got rich and started importing live lamb by the shipload.
Every one of them already had pulses. Every one had grain. Every one walked away from it at the first opportunity.
You will say India. India is the strongest evidence on the list. That vegetarianism is a religious inheritance, not a purchase, and as Indian incomes have risen, milk per head has more than tripled since the 1970s, meat has climbed, and the country now exports buffalo meat by the million tonnes. The richer the household, the more animal food in the basket.
You will say the West is going plant-based. Global meat consumption is at an all-time high, most people who go vegetarian are eating meat again within a few years, and the companies that were going to replace the animal have lost nearly everything they were worth.
You will say the wealthy eat plants. The wealthy pay four figures for marbled ribeye and photograph the salad.
Free people with money have been voting on this for ten thousand years, in every language, without once being asked.
The vote is not close.
The inverse is also applicable.
That which is permitted in all 4 madhaahib are fantastic. Those which are permitted in one but not others, we are encouraged to stay away, out of respect of the difference of opinion amongst Ulama
Hanafis avoid reading Thuhr in Shafi Asr time
is stuff that is haraam in all 4 maddhahib worse than stuff that's haraam in only some? for example is eating pork worse than eating shellfish if you're Hanafi?
Even when affirming truths, their language completely lacks the necessary outrage.
"it was by many measures a genocide"
It WAS a genocide! By every measure!
What The Dutch East India Company did to the Bandanese People:
"Dutch officials claimed they'd detected a conspiracy against them. Coen used this to eliminate further resistance. He ordered his soldiers to torture Bandanese leaders to extract confessions. Over the following months, Company troops waged a brutal campaign that decimated the population. Many Bandanese people were starved to death or enslaved and sent to distant Dutch colonies. Others jumped from cliffs rather than surrender. Thousands fled, emptying out whole villages. Some survivors resettled on other islands, where they preserved remnants of Bandanese language and culture. When the Company's violent campaign was over, the indigenous population had plummeted to less than 1,000, most of whom were enslaved. The Dutch East India Company sliced the islands into plantations and imported an enslaved workforce. It was, by many measures, an act of genocide."

It is sad when someone's enlightenment is your ignorance.
If only he knew what the victors of wwii did to the defeated, just within the first few weeks, let alone the decades thereafter.
Ama İsrail'in 7 Ekim'den haberi olduğunu düşünüyorum.
Sonra İsrail’in verdiği tepkiye bakıyorsun.
Şu an İsrail'dekiler benden nefret ediyor.
Couples therapy in the absence of self-development (islaah) is a disaster
It just provides ammo to each one's nafs and an infinite amount of "see, even he/she agrees with me".
I think people should try t for themselves but be on the lookout for NET positives or negatives
Arnold Schwarzenegger says going to couples therapy during his divorce was the biggest mistake he ever made
"Did you seek out therapy or any personal help?"
"Yes, we did, Maria and I. And it was the biggest mistake I've ever made."
"That guy was so full of shit. He said more crap and more nonsense that was counterproductive to our future relationship."
"Maria talked me into doing it. I went, but felt instinctively I shouldn't go because I knew I screwed up."
"I don't have to go to anyone to have him explain anything to me. I apologized to Maria, apologized to the kids, and tried to move forward."
"It has worked out so well with the help of Maria and the kids, but not because of that shrink."
"I think people should get help when they need it, but in my particular case, it was not helpful."
