Update on Energy Infrastructure.

▪️India's renewable energy hits new milestone in July.

▪️The renewable share in India's power mix rose to 20%, while coal's share declined to 65.7%—its lowest level in a year.

▪️India recorded its highest-ever monthly renewable electricity generation in July 2026, with renewables contributing 36.25 billion kWh, up 30% YoY.

▪️India's July 2026 power generation mix:
Coal: 65.7%
Renewables (Solar, Wind, Biomass & Others): 20.0%
Hydropower: 12.2%
Nuclear & Gas: ~2.1%

▪️On July 13, solar and wind generation crossed 100 GW, meeting a record 42.8% of India's electricity demand during peak daytime hours.

▪️Despite renewables' rapid growth, coal-fired generation still increased 12.8% YoY due to weaker hydropower output and higher nighttime cooling demand.

▪️The milestone highlights India's accelerating clean energy transition while underscoring the need for stronger transmission networks, grid flexibility, and energy storage to integrate rising renewable capacity.
