@GulfYakin@IndInTheUS I wouldn't really know the specifics of QA, it's not something I'd ever consider doing myself.
I guess it's only poetic that your job is like your existence - low-impact.
@RawTakep87k@jod_insane Actually I can't sleep because of azaan and that is the issue. And it is a issue because people even refuse to acknowledgement this is an issue.
Also, the sum total of municipal engagement and online actity are obviously not on this month old X account.
@RawTakep87k@jod_insane First off, it isn't "now". This has been my stance since we first engaged.
Second, "Regardless of religion" is something you're saying but isn't something that is enforced in practice. Are mosques disallowed from blaring azaan ot 4.55am? They're not.
@RawTakep87k@jod_insane Look if you're unable to spell out an argument that's okay, you can sit this out. The disabled aren't expected to run races, it's okay.
But please spare me the word-emoji soup.
@RawTakep87k@jod_insane Kindly keep your sarcasm to yourself.
Question is will the authorities even acknowledge azaan noise complaint when even social media seems to be so hesitant to call them a problem? Do you know where I live and what recourse I've sought regarding this issue?
@RawTakep87k@jod_insane I fully agree with you. I think municipal laws should disallow noise during "quiet hours" and religious expression should not be an exception.
Calls for reform and law enforcement ought to be uniform too but that doesn't seem to be the case right now. That's all.
@RawTakep87k@jod_insane And the definition and expectations of "reasonable timings" should be applied secularly. At the moment that isn't the case.
Since we're dealing with an Indian city, Indian notions secularity matter.
Like you say, this is common sense.
@RawTakep87k@jod_insane And in so far as the length and duration of public events - devotees are free express their religion as they see fit in accordance with laws municipal and otherwise.
One could just as easily question why azaan 5 times a day, everyday. A devotees expression is their prerogative
@RawTakep87k@jod_insane It doesn't cost a lot to agree that azaans are disruptive and yet the public discourse and law enforcement regarding that seems to go nowhere
@JBananas53256@TheExplorerecho Stop begging Indian immigrants to act against their selfish interest make them unemployable through your talent and skills. Have self respect.
@Tejasvi_Surya I think you and your ilk massively under estimate the value of the electoral stability GEN voters have provided to PM Modi these past 12 years
@RawTakep87k@jod_insane Someone's objection to "Hindu noise" leading to others raising objections to "Muslim noise" is a perfect opportunity for coalition building against "religious noise". When someone then says "No, this conversation stays to Hindu noise only" is when the broader issue loses support.
@RawTakep87k@jod_insane I see why bringing up azaan in this context can seem deflectory but I guess the thing is Hindus are also upset with public discourse not really moving beyond their own religious expression. A holistic discussion and can should cover azaan as well.
