Jesus died at 33. The human spine has 33 vertebrae. The same structure that holds us up is the same number of years He held this Earth.
We have 12 ribs on each side. 12 disciples. 12 tribes of Israel. God built His design into our bones. He wrote Heaven into our anatomy.
The vagus nerve runs from your brain to your heart and gut. It calms storms inside the body. It looks just like a cross. Thatâs the power source running through us. Every time your body heals, every time your heart slows in prayer, every time peace shows up when it shouldnâtâŠthatâs Him.
Jesus rose on the third day. Science tells us that when you fast for 3 days, your body starts regenerating. Old cells die. New ones are born. Healing begins. Your body literally resurrects itself. Thatâs not coincidence. Thatâs design.
And it keeps going.
Your heart has an electrical rhythm. Your brain lights up when you pray. Tears contain different chemicals depending on if you're crying from joy or grief. The blood speaks. The bones store memory. The body worships whether you realize it or not.
We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are walking prophecy. Walking tabernacles. Dust and divinity in one.
God didnât just create you. He carved Himself into you.
You donât need to look far to find Him. You just need to look inward. Heâs been in the design since the beginning.
Every father has a line he won't cross when it comes to his son.
Every father... except one.
Modern dads will burn down the school district if little Johnny gets detention. They'll sue coaches, fire teachers, hire lawyers to protect their precious snowflake from a single scraped knee.
But God the Father? He took His perfect Son - 33 years of absolute perfection, never missed a beat, never disappointed anyone, never even had a dark thought - and He DESTROYED Him.
Not discipline. DESTRUCTION.
Picture taking your most innocent child and forcing him to become every pedophile who ever breathed. Every serial killer. Every rapist. Every demon-possessed maniac who ever carved up innocents in basement dungeons.
That's what the Father did to Jesus.
Your pornography addiction? The Son of God BECAME a porn addict on that cross.
Your cheating heart? He BECAME an adulterer.
Your murderous rage when someone cuts you off in traffic? He BECAME a cold-blooded killer.
Every sick fantasy that crawls through your mind at 3 AM? Jesus BECAME that pervert.
The Father took every act of child abuse, every genocide, every torture chamber, every act of sexual violence in human history and shoved it into His beloved Son like shoving broken glass down a baby's throat.
And it PLEASED Him to do it.
Isaiah 53:10 - "It PLEASED the LORD to crush Him."
Not reluctantly. Not with a heavy heart. It PLEASED Him.
The Father became a cosmic child abuser for six hours. He turned His perfect Son into the most disgusting, vile, cursed thing that ever existed and then beat Him to death for crimes He never committed.
For the first time in eternity, the Trinity was ripped apart. Perfect love became perfect wrath. The Father looked at His Son and saw YOU - covered in your filth, reeking of your rebellion - and unleashed hell itself.
Jesus didn't just carry your sin. He BECAME your sin so completely that the Father couldn't tell the difference between His beloved Son and the most evil human who ever lived.
This wasn't a divine therapy session. This was cosmic slaughter.
The sinless became sin. The clean became filthy. The beloved became cursed. Perfect became damned.
And we have the unmitigated gall to treat this like a bedtime story?
The gospel isn't "God loves you." The gospel is "God destroyed His Son to avoid destroying you."
The Father sacrificed His own child so He wouldn't have to sacrifice yours.
What kind of violent love does it take to murder your perfect Son to save rebels who spit in your face?
The cross wasn't beautiful. It was the most brutal act of divine violence in history. And it was the only way to save you.
The chisel slips.
Blood wells up between His thumb and forefinger. Dark red. Mixing with sawdust.
He doesnât stop working. Just wipes it on His tunicâalready stained brown from yesterdayâs cutâand goes back to the wood.
Summer in Nazareth. Heat pressing down. The shop smells like fresh-cut timber and sweat and the copper tang of blood.
This is Jesus.
30 years old. Hands calloused and scarred. Splinters under His fingernails Heâll dig out tonight with a knife.
Building a table for a man whoâll haggle Him down to nothing because carpenters in Nazareth are poor and everyone knows it.
The Word that spoke galaxies into existence is cutting dovetail joints.
30 years of this.
Not preaching. Not building a platform.
Building furniture.
Getting up before dawn while itâs still cold. Starting the fire. Waiting for enough light to see the grain because one mistake ruins a weekâs work and He canât afford to waste timber.
His back hurts. Always hurts. And Heâs hungry. Nazareth-poor hungry. Carpenterâs-wages hungry.
Josephâs dead. Left Jesus as the eldest son. The provider.
So Jesus works. Feeds Mary. Feeds His brothers who think Heâs crazy.
Some days thereâs no work. You sit in the shop and wait and wonder if youâll eat tomorrow.
For 30 years. Anonymous.
Then He leaves.
Walks out of the shop at 30. Doesnât come back.
âFoxes have dens, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.â
Actually homeless. Sleeping on dirt. On borrowed floors. Rocks in His back. One robe. Sandals worn through. Feet cracked and bleeding from walking everywhere.
3œ years of that.
Teaching until His voice goes raw. Walking until His feet bleed. No platform. No green room.
Just dust and crowds that want miracles, not obedience.
And the whole time, Rome is sharpening the nails.
Then the scourging.
Forty lashes minus one. The flagrumâwhip with bone shards and metal balls woven into leather.
Rips chunks of flesh off your back. Exposes muscle. Ribs.
Men died from the scourging alone.
Jesus survived it.
Then they make Him carry the wood. The crossbeam. Just like the beams He carried for 30 years.
But this one presses into shredded flesh. Every step tears the wounds open.
Then the nails.
Through the wrists. Between the bones. Where the median nerve runs.
Square iron spike. They hammer.
Feel it punch through skin. Sever the nerve. His hand spasms. Burns like fire.
Then His feet. One nail through both.
They lift the cross. Drop it in the hole.
All His weight on those nails. Shoulders dislocate.
You canât breathe unless you push up on the nail through your feet.
So you push. Get one breath. Collapse. Suffocate. Push. Breathe.
For six hours.
30 years of splinters led to this.
The hands that built tables. That bled from a slipped chisel in Nazareth.
Nailed to wood.
Hereâs the math:
30 years of obscurity.
3œ years of public ministry.
Then execution.
90% of His adult life in the shadows. 10% in the light.
We flip it.
We want 90% platform. 10% preparation.
Launch the ministry at 23. Burn out at 28. Wonder why thereâs no depth.
Because you skipped the 30 years of bleeding in private.
Those years werenât wasted. They were the forge.
God was forging character that could carry a cross.
The years where nobody knows your name. Where you work until your hands bleed. Where you wonder if this is all there is.
Thatâs where God makes you into someone who wonât run when the nails come.
The disciples ran. They had 3 years with Jesus. Not 30.
They got the ministry without the obscurity. The platform without the splinters.
When the soldiers came, they scattered.
Because they skipped the carpenter shop.
You canât skip it either.
You canât skip the 30 years of anonymous obedience. The hidden faithfulness. The years where you bleed in private and nobody cares.
Thatâs where God forges you into someone who can handle nails.
What if Godâs keeping you hidden on purpose?
Who are introverts:
- they'll stay awake till 12 am to wish you happy birthday
- they'll let you play your fav songs in their car even if they don't like them
- they'll watch every movie you recommend
- they'll remember you favorite ice-cream flavour
- they'll listen to your rants on politics even if it bores them
- they'll take you to your favorite places, anywhere
- they'll cancel their plans for you, even if it hurts
They will sacrifice their needs, their likes, their preferences and everything humanly possible to make you feel special. That's their love language.
That's who they are. Real. Kind. Caring. But you what hurts... people don't get it.
She's kissing His feet.
The prostitute is kissing the rabbi's feet.
With her mouth. Her hair. Her tears.
And every man at this table knows exactly who she is.
Some of them have paid her.
She knew Jesus.
Simon the Pharisee just knew ABOUT Him.
And there's a blood-soaked difference.
Simon invited Jesus to dinner.
Not to honor Him. To evaluate Him.
Simon was a Pharisee. Didn't touch unclean things. Kept every law where people could see it.
Jesus walked through his door.
No kiss. No water for His feet. No oil for His head.
Just the minimum hospitality the law required.
Safe belief. The kind that doesn't cost anything.
Then she walked in.
That woman. The one they whispered about.
She brought her alabaster jar. The expensive perfume.
Some of them had smelled it before. Up close. In the dark.
Tonight it meant something different.
She didn't come to work. She came to worship.
She fell at His feet.
Then she did something that stopped every conversation:
She let down her hair.
First-century Jewish culture: A woman never let down her hair in public.
Never.
Grounds for divorce. Proof of adultery.
Bound hair = respectability.
Loose hair = available.
Every man in that room knew the language.
She let it fall. In front of the rabbi. In front of the men who'd paid her.
Not seduction. Surrender.
When you truly KNOW Jesus, you stop performing for Pharisees.
Her tears fell on His feet.
Sobbing. Ugly crying. Years of shame cracking open.
She wiped His feet with her hair.
The hair that marked her as "that woman."
The hair men had touched in transactions.
She used it to serve Jesus.
Kissed His feet. Over and over.
Poured the perfume over them.
The whole house filled with her smell. Her past. Her trade.
And Jesus let her.
Simon thought: "If this man were a prophet, He would know what kind of woman is touching Him."
Here's the bomb:
Jesus DID know.
Her profession. Her shame. Every client. Every transaction.
He knew.
And He let her touch Him anyway.
Because God doesn't keep His distance from unclean things.
He gets close enough to be contaminated by our shame so we can be cleansed by His love.
Jesus turned to Simon.
Told a story about two debtors. One owed 500 denarii. One owed 50.
Neither could pay. Both forgiven.
"Which one will love more?"
"The one forgiven more."
"Correct."
Then Jesus destroyed Simon:
"I entered your house. You gave Me no water. She washed My feet with tears.
You gave Me no kiss. She hasn't stopped kissing My feet.
You gave no oil. She anointed My feet with perfume.
Her many sins are forgivenâas her great love has shown."
Simon knew ABOUT Jesus. Kept all the laws. Maintained distance.
The prostitute knew JESUS. Brought shame. Tears. Hair. Everything.
Simon calculated. She surrendered.
Jesus said: She understands the Kingdom.
Believing in Jesus doesn't make you a Christian.
The demons believe. Know theology. Quote Scripture. Recognize His authority.
James 2:19 â "Even the demons believeâand shudder."
And they're going to hell.
Because belief without surrender is just information.
It's Simon at the table. Safe. Clean. Unchanged.
Knowing ABOUT Jesus while never getting close enough to be changed.
The woman's love WAS the evidence of forgiveness.
Not the cause. The proof.
Simon looked at her and saw sin.
Jesus looked at her and saw faith.
Simon kept distance to stay clean.
She broke every rule to get close.
Jesus said to HER: "Your faith has saved you. Go in peace."
Not your belief. Your faith.
Not your knowledge. Your reckless proximity.
Not your reputation. Your messy surrender.
Simon went home still clean. Still correct.
Still distant.
Still unchanged.
The prostitute went home forgiven.
Transformed.
Not because she was better.
Because she came closer.
Which one are you?

Joseph of Arimathea took down a corpse.
Hands still sticky with blood.
Skin already cold.
Touched death. Held it. Wrapped it.
Became ceremonially unclean for Passover.
For a dead man.
Here's what most Christians miss about the burial of Jesus:
Joseph was a wealthy man. A member of the Sanhedrin. A respected Jew.
And Passover was 3 hours away.
The holiest day of the year.
But he climbed Golgotha anyway.
Jewish law was clear:
Touch a dead body = unclean for 7 days.
Can't worship. Can't celebrate. Can't enter the temple.
Joseph knew this.
He'd spent his entire life following these laws.
But Jesus was still hanging on that cross.
Picture it:
The crowds are gone. The soldiers drunk. The women weeping.
Joseph approaches Pilateâthe man who just murdered his Lordâand asks permission.
"Can I have the body?"
Pilate grants it.
Now Joseph has to actually DO it.
He walks to Golgotha.
Blood-soaked dirt. The smell of death. Three crosses against the sky.
Jesus in the middle.
Still.
Finally still.
Joseph climbs the ladder.
Grabs the first nail.
Pulls.
Feel the weight of that moment.
God's body in your arms.
The blood isn't dry yet.
It stains his expensive robes.
His hands.
Under his fingernails.
He can taste the iron in the air.
This is what obedience looks like.
Messy. Expensive. Permanent.
Nicodemus shows up.
Another secret disciple. Another Sanhedrin member.
He brings 75 pounds of myrrh and aloes.
That's about $150,000 worth of burial spices in today's money.
Two wealthy men. Two cowards until now.
Finally brave when it's already too late.
They work fast.
Sabbath is coming. They have maybe 3 hours.
Wrap the body. Pour the spices. Seal the tomb.
The sun is setting.
Joseph is now officially unclean.
Can't celebrate Passover tomorrow.
Can't enter the temple for a week.
Think about what he just gave up:
His ceremonial purity.
His Passover celebration.
His reputation (everyone saw him bury a "blasphemer").
His position (the Sanhedrin won't forget this).
His safety (Romans might come for disciples next).
All for a dead man.
But here's what most Christians miss:
Joseph didn't do this expecting resurrection.
He did it expecting NOTHING.
Jesus was dead. Gone. Finished.
This wasn't faith in resurrection.
This was love for a corpse.
That's the part that wrecks me.
Joseph touched deathâliterallyâknowing it meant giving up everything.
Not because Jesus promised him anything.
But because Jesus deserved honor even in death.
Modern Christianity wants clean obedience.
Safe obedience.
Obedience that doesn't cost you Passover.
But Joseph shows us something different:
True discipleship gets your hands dirty.
You want to follow Jesus?
Then stop avoiding the messy parts.
Stop waiting for clean opportunities.
Stop demanding that obedience be convenient.
Joseph climbed Golgotha when everyone else went home.
He wrapped a corpse when he could've stayed clean.
He missed the holiest day of his life to honor a dead "criminal."
He risked everything when there was no visible reward.
That's not religion.
That's worship.
The twist?
Three days later, that tomb was empty.
Joseph gave his grave to Jesus.
Jesus left it empty.
Forever.
Joseph thought he was burying God.
He was actually setting the stage for resurrection.
Your messy obedience?
God's using it too.
Even when you can't see it.
So here's the question:
What are you avoiding because it's too messy?
What obedience are you postponing because it's inconvenient?
What grave are you unwilling to give?
Joseph of Arimathea held death in his arms.
Got blood on his hands.
Missed Passover.
Lost his reputation.
And earned his name in all four Gospels.
Religion says "stay clean."
Discipleship says "get dirty."
Joseph chose discipleship.
What are you choosing?

The Bible names 8 foods that contain "God's medicine."
Iâve eaten these, grown these, and raised my boys on these.
Here's the full list of elite, Biblical foods:
1. Watermelon
A man can be emotionally shattered, mentally exhausted, financially ruined, and spiritually drained, but if heâs still showing up, no one notices. Society doesnât check his mental health, only his performance. Utility over humanity. Every time
Introverts are kind people, but if you piss them off, they'll ignore your whole existence. They're givers. They love. They care. They reciprocate. They'll give you chances after chances. Over & over again. But once they've had it, they don't revenge, they just disappear forever.
Jesus didn't hangout with sinners because he affirmed and celebrated their lifestyles.
He spent time with sinners to show them their need for a Savior, and to teach them a different way of living.
