“Capital is moving away from low-quality offsets that effectively facilitate greenwashing towards impactful projects which are making a real verifiable change.”
Our COO Sam Gill spoke at the Economics of Climate Change event at #cop26 yesterday.

To answer yesterday's #GeographyOnline question, Alexander von Humboldt has the most things named after him - he was also the 1st to describe man-made climate change by observing deforestation in Venezuela in 1799.
Today's question: where is the hottest recorded spot on Earth?

My friend has the biggest TV of anyone I know. This still feels like a terrible paper at a scientific conference. If I can’t read it, it’s not worth putting on the screen.
@mapanauta@opengeospatial @BartDeLathouwer @nadinesa@trakasa In the future I’d like to see a wide adoption of standardised API (e.g. STAC-compliant) to access data in the cloud (S3 etc.). Would allow for easy acquisition of imagery from different missions for the area of interest, and easy metadata analysis.
@mapanauta@opengeospatial @BartDeLathouwer @nadinesa@trakasa Challenges: lack of unified APIs, disparate sources, lots of registration forms, not all data is available online (e.g. Sentinel Long Term Archive). Mostly UI access with poor or non-existent programmatic access.
