Abba Moses said, 'The man who flees and lives in solitude is like a bunch of grapes ripened by the sun, but he who remains amongst men is like an unripe grape.'
@Hereticus3@KevvyBeeee@ClarkeMicah Were your marriage annulled, it's because sufficient canonical reason was found to declare that there was no sacramental marriage to begin with. It's not that you are no longer married, it's that you never were married, sacramentally speaking.
@s0j0hn@s1lv3rx_ "The Commandements of God are pretty clear. You will not kill."
The Commandments then go on to state all the circumstances in which you will kill.
The Hebrew word for 'kill' used in the 5th Commandment (ratsach) means murder.
@ClarkeMicah Whether the interpretation is correct or not is beside the point. The fact is, that verse is BELIEVED by Roman Catholics to be an expression of Divine Will concerning what Christ's Church is founded upon, and any belief about the Divine Will is - unquestionably - a RELIGIOUS one.
@ArchieS84955476 She's obviously seen it, but probably doesn't care as it's not much different from all the other fanfic she's seen since the books were written.
@MYirrell@ClarkeMicah "your point was Christ established His Church on Peter"
No, that was not my point. My point was that the belief that he did is a religious belief, not a political belief.
Reading comprehension: get yourself some.
@Faithful_Cath@iissaacc22@AmerRef1517 Except that's not the Lutheran belief, which is that the blood of Christ becomes present along with the wine, so that the two substances coexist with each other (a view which Bl. John Duns Scotus considered more philosophically defensible than transubstantiation).
@underground2099@Rho_die@TradLibrarian According to you, that promise is: "You can trust this guy as long as he's alive, but once he's dead you have to trust the next guy, even when he contradicts the previous guy whom I told you to trust."
Some promise!
@underground2099@Rho_die@TradLibrarian "Commit intellectual suicide or you're not Catholic."
That's a terrific image of Catholicism you're presenting there.
