Thank you - it's total PR bullshit. They own the fucking fund.
the irony is nuts: an industry feared for concentrating wealth and eliminating employment announces that it will help humanity by creating another entity under its own control.
The public gets the promise. Anthropic gets the publicity.
Whether the public gets the money remains to be seen.
52% of Americans are more concerned than excited about AI.
71% believe AI will lead to fewer jobs.
Only 9% are more excited than concerned about AI.
Millions of Americans are using AI. Many are paying for it. Far fewer can demonstrate detailed knowledge of how the technology works.
Meanwhile, AI companies are making decisions that could affect employment, education, communication, information access, and economic distribution.
And those companies increasingly present themselves as responsible stewards of the changes they are creating.
The public is being asked to trust institutions whose technology, financial arrangements, and decision-making processes it may not understand.
How many Americans understand that the AI they're paying for is not necessarily the product they think they're buying?
They're buying access to a service, governed by contractual conditions, model choices, usage restrictions, and policies they don't control.
And now this fund?
Horatio, X gaveth me fifteen dollars.
Horatio: Out of generosity, my lord?
Shakespeare: Nay, Horatio. They hath purchased the opportunity to sell me something for the remainder of mine natural life.
Horatio: And what shall we do?
Shakespeare: Spendeth the fucking fifteen dollars
there are those of us who are sticking around out of morbid curiosity, just to see exactly how badly humanity will fuck this world up before it ends in disaster, and i must say that the results so far are impressive bad.
@Mike_Pence@WSJopinion Anybody surprised? The law was written for the fucking White House not to enact. Tariffs are up to 100% and the presidents discretion. The media is such shit. The “discretion” of the president? Up to 100% what a joke.
HARKETH HORATIO — GOD HATH THE LAST WORD
"God is dead."
— Friedrich Nietzsche
"Nietzsche is dead."
— God
Neither exchange was ever fucking conductedeth, and Shakespeare hath been draggedeth into this against his will.
Shakespeare: Harketh Horatio! Nietzsche hath declaredeth that God is deadeth!
Horatio: A most extraordinary claimeth, my lord.
Shakespeare: Indeedeth! And God hath respondeth!
Horatio: What didst He say?
Shakespeare: Nietzsche is deadeth!
Horatio: A devastating rebuttaleth!
Shakespeare: Aye! Two thousand years of theology defeatedeth by a fucking obituary!
Horatio: But my lord, doth the death of Nietzsche proveth the existence of God?
Shakespeare: Nay.
Horatio: And doth the declaration that God is dead proveth His nonexistence?
Shakespeare: Nay.
Horatio: Then what hath we learnedeth?
Shakespeare: That neither philosophy nor theology hath preventeth mankind from enjoyingeth a good comeback!
Horatio: Who winneth the argument?
Shakespeare: Whoever writeth the last line.
Horatio: But God hath not actually spokeneth?
Shakespeare: Then whoever claimeth to speaketh for God.
Horatio: Ah. Religioneth.
Shakespeare: And social media.
Horatio: Fucketh.
