I prefer slow math. I don't buy the idea that not aggressively using this technology makes you "fall behind". I think if anything the machine has dessimated all frontiers. I reject the idea that there's a definite bleeding edge of mathematics anymore and I'm no longer afraid to defy the experts on this because I have an expert in my backpocket for $20/month. I will go back to the 40s and 50s and learn old math, as slowly as I can, like I have always done and only by chance encountered the frontier, never as a goal. Chasing the bleeding edge is for AI Safety Researcher Jacob Tsimerman, it is not for me.
This is what Malaysian bnbs have been like.
Take trash out.
Put laundry in pile.
Dishes in sink.
Lights off.
I wash the dishes cause I can't stand dirty dishes but that's a me thing.
List of duties I am prepared to do as someone who regularly stays in Airbnbs:
- Put trash in bins. Will take a bag to a wheelie bin if it is close by to the door.
- Stack the dishwasher and turn it on (handwashing any delicate items)
- Throw used towels in a pile in the bathroom
There is an American tech YouTuber called Jerry Rigs Everything. Most of his videos are about him taking apart devices, understanding how they work etc.
He has 10.2 million subscribers
In 2005 his wife had a horse riding accident as a result of which she was paralyzed waist down. She now required a wheel chair to move about
All high quality outdoor wheelchairs that he tested costed upwards of $20,000
Considering he was a tech Youtuber with some fame he could have simply called one company to get one for free.
He didn't do that
Like he does on his channel, he took apart a wheelchair, understood its components and then built one on his own
He then decided to sell them in public for $999. He called it the Paradox
Thanks to him, most of us can have access to high mobility, all terrain wheelchairs.
This is what tech Youtubers abroad do. They actually make a difference
Meanwhile Our guys haven't yet gone past, "Arre Bhai, Yeh dekho Apple ka agla amazing phone, Isme aapko milta hai 3 camera aur ek screen. See how I am drooling on this packaging and colour" with some pathetically click baity thumbnails
"Why don't survivors come forward sooner--"
You mean like Katie Johnson did? And look who is president.
You mean like Jane Doe at Cornell? They tried to doxx her and sent swat to her house -- and who knows if that was even the "right" person.
You mean like Anita Hill did? And look who is on the Supreme Court.
You mean like Amy Acton did? And look who is mocking her.
You mean like all the children in the Epstein files? And look who is being protected.
Disrespectfully, fuck off forever.
