I don't primarily play classical music, sometimes a recording I find acceptable at first is actually not that good compared to others with better musicians, does he pick sub par recordings?

@TouchLogos @husafell_stone He likes Autechre, which I wouldn't call popular music but they do have releases that sold well on "indie" record labels. IMO it is art music, even Incunabula, which is danceable.
