"The mind is sharper and keener in seclusion and uninterrupted solitude.
No big laboratory is needed in which to think. Originality thrives in seclusion free of outside influences beating upon us to cripple the creative mind."
-- Nikola Tesla (1856 - 1943)

Today, we celebrate #JUNETEENTH2020, the oldest nationally-celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States.
Niners, we encourage you to use this day (and every day) to reflect, learn, listen and advocate for equality and justice 💚 (1/2)
#OTD in 1865, enslaved African Americans were notified of their freedom by Union troops in Galveston Bay, TX—two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.
Known as #Juneteenth, this day is widely celebrated as the end of chattel slavery in the U.S. #APeoplesJourney
You cannot get educated by this self-propagating system in which people study to pass exams, and teach others to pass exams, but nobody knows anything.
You learn something by doing it yourself, by asking questions, by thinking, and by experimenting. 🧠
Yesterday, 53 years ago, Thurgood Marshall was nominated as the first African-American Supreme Court Justice. Marshall said, "Where you see wrong or inequality or injustice, speak out, because this is your country." We honor his words and commit to seeking out justice for all.
I’m glad I had the opportunity to say goodbye to Mathlete Mason McElroy. He will truly be missed as he heads off to NCSSM. It was truly a pleasure seeing his mathematical maturation garner him local, state, and national recognition. I’m so proud of him.
