Is it possible to farm without exploitation?
I've spent a decade working all over ag looking for the answer to that question.
The world is littered with evidence that it is not possible. I've found one "Yes," in all my obsession searching. And I'm betting career on it. THREAD
@nwl88444048 The obviously don’t realise how short of power Ireland is, and there is a power plant in the middle to the factory producing a few % of Ireland total energy needs
@SeoirseSpark2@Caitmaxine@TullMcAdoo Absolute rubbish, that’s brown rust your seeing, a fungal disease of plants from mid season onwards, often indicative of low levels of copper in the ground
@Caitmaxine@TullMcAdoo That’s to stop it drying out too much and getting a dust blow, there are sprinklers running on it once a certain temperature and wind speed is reach, standard procedure at the plant
@rayofoghlu@gloverstweets It would remove a huge amount of “Agricultural pollution” off the EPA balance sheet, not sure where it would move it too though
@mark_crapper1 Beef processors don’t look beyond the time it takes to slaughter, box and have on a lorry. ‘Let the last hour be the longest’ - is the motto the live under
@ThrimbyFarms Used always clamp stockfeed spuds with silage until haulage got too expensive. They are now making 25% of the cost of rolled barley, so we don’t do it anymore
@BobFlavin@TGlenane@dunnesstores Hopefully not, uncles you’re a fan of ergot, mildew, blight in the wheat used. And also if you don’t want a high quality micro nutrient complex ingredient from all the nutrition added
Its hard believe we are only 2 or 3 generations since the famine
@EmmaHoyes1 Snap, I had the same experience after a booking mishap with a parent. Spent the first night sleeping with my head touching the hotel hall door on the floor trying to escape the noise, following night, I managed to get another room. Parent was pretty offended 🤣
