@olsonplanner@TKopelman Hehe… to be fair, I think you mostly covered it with “just in case”… presumably money that’s not needed or expected to be spent.
@ericlaw@AskPayPal I just went through the same… no obvious good way to report to PayPal. None of the report abuse options were easy or seemed to fit. I ended up forwarding @AskPayPal their own phishing email which was… odd.
@ChristianSelig Right… exactly. For most of our data it’s pretty straightforward to take the best/combination of both. For other data we have like game settings, we’re not currently syncing or restoring it.
@OmarShahine@USMobile FWIW, I ended up using @tellomobile to get backup data using an eSIM and the T-Mobile network, with a similarly low-priced custom plan.
@OmarShahine@USMobile Was more significant in my case, since I was trying to get the T-Mobile network as a backup for my main Verizon account, but this seems impossible through US Mobile at least.
@aboodman@ian@kocienda For this feature, there’s no new cost in most cases… iOS already had top and bottom safe area insets. Apps should already render important content within the safe area, and shouldn’t do pixel dependent layout, so nothing changes unless doing something unusual.
@warpling Right… seems to make some sense that an “always on” display wouldn’t turn off. That said, I read that it does turn off when in a pocket or face down, so I’m not sure what differentiates this? Maybe on a timer or depending on ambient light or other factors?
@stake_jevens@drgurner@Carnage4Life But the overall sensor area is also significantly larger (65%), and the binned quad-pixels for comparable 12MP images are similarly larger than the previous individual pixels. Curious what you think the main disadvantages are in this case?
@ericlaw@netflix@AppleTV For the record, I did finally see this bug happen tonight. Worked around it by playing the previous episode and fast forwarding to the end. Must either be content dependent or rely on a playback position that for me seems to happen rarely.
@sniffdodoubleg@Carnage4Life Right, sometimes is just inflation adjustments but different numbers are out there, and all just estimates. For example, that 2016 $103k number matches the Fed / SCF number if in 2019 dollars. And that 2019 $127k just seems wrong since not a “gain of 17.6%”, which would be $121k.
@warpling Yeah, it wasn’t really a great user experience, and I think it also felt a little more novel and cool to everyone years ago than it would today.
@jefframes@warpling There’ve probably been a few networks doing things like that. I mostly think of Chartboost which has/had a lot of features for cross promotions and direct deals between developers, going way back to 2011.
