Muse to 1 that I know of, mother to 2 that I'm sure of. Like Dumas, I prefer rogues to imbeciles, as rogues sometimes take a break. #Resist#BLM#VoteBlue
@piersmorgan@GMB Squeezed a baby out of any orifice & go home from hospital next day to care for it & husband? Didn't think so. Grow a pair. Of ovaries.
Data center companies want more than 24,000 acres of your public land.
That's the count from the Center for Western Priorities, which just mapped every data center application sitting on BLM land.
35 applications, spread across AZ, ID, NV, OR, UT and WY.
At least seventeen are data center campuses, and one of them, in UT, would be powered by 456 small nuclear reactors. Thirteen are the roads, water pipelines and power lines to feed them. Many list zero acres, so the real footprint is bigger.
BLM already approved one data center near Boulder City, NV, in June. This month it was thrown out after an appeals board found BLM likely broke federal environmental law. If that data center sat on city land, Boulder City would have collected roughly $2.3 million a year. On BLM land, it won't generate any revenue for the city. Now picture 35 applications on 24,000 acres.
Then there's what these places eat. Power first. In a Sept. 24 letter to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum, 16 House Democrats warned that data centers could use up to 12% of all electricity in the U.S. by 2028, straining the grid and driving up energy prices.
Then water. U.S. data centers drank 17 billion gallons in 2023 just to stay cool, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory says that could double or even quadruple by 2028. Not to mention the wildlife and the land itself. Public lands are often tied to tribal lands and waters, so tribal communities are on the line too.
And the public? The Center for Western Priorities says there is no framework for environmental review, public input, or sending revenue back to taxpayers. Lauren Bogard, of the Center for Western Priorities, put it plainly: "Data centers are not like oil, gas, or minerals, which are extracted from public lands because that's where they exist."
Not that extracting oil, gas or minerals is good for public lands in any shape or form.
If you feel as strongly as I do about keeping data centers off our public lands, please fill out the easy form below. Tell Burgum to stop this dangerous precedent and protect our shared public lands. Then share it with your friends. It's in the first reply. Thank you.

If you weren’t supporting @AbdulElSayed before this amazing exchange, listen to it & you’ll be in his corner. His sense of who he is, how fortunate he’s been, & what he wants for the rest of us is so beautifully expressed.
Can’t wait for him to win & bury the bigotry!
The greatest intelligence failure in American history may not have been a foreign operation. It may have been America's inability to protect itself from its own president.
For years, the evidence of Trump's extraordinary loyalty to Moscow has been mounting. His admiration for Putin, his attacks on NATO, his possession of highly classified American defence secrets, and his repeated willingness to advance Russian interests.
Yet the most extraordinary part of this entire scandal is the American state itself. The FBI, the intelligence community, Congress and the entire national security apparatus have proved incapable of protecting the country from a president whose conduct has repeatedly raised profound questions about his loyalty.
Russia spent decades trying to defeat the United States from the outside. Now Putin can watch an American president dismantle the Western order from within.
And the institutions built to defend America have been unable to stop him.
What an extraordinary national humiliation.
@william_fitz And they know it’s trash, but now that ai is “national security” they also know a bailout is inevitable. Any fund manager picking up this paper should be fired immediately.
“Michael Kofman…said ‘Ukrainian forces continue to be throttled in their ability to employ strike drones and interceptor drones to 160 kilometers per hour, but the current connection is below 130 kilometers per hour, and the limits continue to hamper Ukrainian strike operations and air defenses.’
“Some U.S. officials say that Musk acted unilaterally and that Trump didn’t specifically order any retribution against Ukraine. But a person familiar with the situation said Musk talked to multiple senior administration officials, including with Trump, before imposing the new speed cap, which Ukrainian officials said had allowed Russian missiles to evade their defenses.
'Speed' derives from the Old English 'spēd,' which referred to good fortune/success.
This sense of 'speed' lives on in 'Godspeed':
"God spede you" = "God prosper you"
We hope this brings you up to speed.
Is your soul worth giving up to the Epstein class who raped and abused kids? Republicans made it illegal to hand out water on the long voter lines they created hoping people would give up. Those long lines are mostly in black areas. I wonder why?
Protecting the Great Lakes and fresh water for Michigan families isn't a weakness, it's leadership. Mike Rogers would rather protect a foreign oil company’s profits than our clean water.
Rogers and his corporate backers love using Line 5 fearmongering because they have zero actual vision for the UP. Protecting our lakes and creating real future-proof jobs is what actual leaders do.

Vote Dr. @AbdulElSayed
If this is accurate, Elon lied about not having control over Starshield, and he lied about the administration making the decision.
More importantly, why is a private citizen even *able* to make decisions that could hinder US military operations?
Full Congressional investigation is in order. ASAP. Ukrainians died and US diplomatic personnel plus US citizens were at grave risk. https://t.co/2CL61jWJx3
@AWeinstein@AntiToxicPeople A malignantly narcissistic sociopath with fading pathological tendencies, trying desperately to fake his way through his daily Presidential tasks.
And failing.
@AWeinstein USA has forever forfeited any right to talk about system of checks and balances. This sack of shite was unfit to be president even before the elections but now is just unfathomable that no one there dares to remove him.
@AWeinstein I’m guessing though that the @nytimes@wapo et al aren’t printing 12 hyperventilated pieces daily about how he must step down, like they did with Biden, who was actually just fine compared with how bats*it crazy Trump is.
