@sarahhepola Define fix, do you mean put on the spare, or find the puncture and seal it? I could do both but calling for assistance to swap in the spare is for when I'm wearing a tuxedo
AI is a cognitive prosthesis. It hands one ordinary person the capability that used to take a team, a budget, or a credential. That's the thing worth defending.
Last week the Commerce Department forced Anthropic to pull two already-deployed models, in use by hundreds of millions, off the market for every foreign national alive, including the company's own employees. The trigger? Someone got a model to read code and flag security bugs. Anthropic's own rebuttal is that freely available models already do exactly this. So the capability was never the issue. The precedent is: a shipped frontier model can be yanked on a verbal say-so.
And here's the part Anthropic doesn't get to complain about. Spend two years insisting your product is too dangerous to exist, market your safeguards like weapons-grade containment, then act shocked when a regulator takes you at your word. They wrote the legal predicate themselves and stamped a logo on it.
The real risk was never a rogue machine. It's a standing mechanism where "approved" is the default and access is the exception. Built, conveniently, by the same people who sold the apocalypse.
@ApexSeeker_ Depression is just your mind seeking answers it can't find. Climb more mountains, swim more rivers, spend time with like minded adventurers. Seek out the experience that provides the answers.
Or just build a touge monster and be a lonely driver.
@pradslabs@AnthropicAI Be sure to make it open source and not a corporate controlled system. The plutocracy in charge of the US government (both sides) can't stop an open source signal.
@AnthropicAI I'm happy to complete any EAR compliance agreement and proof of citizenship they require. I'll even pay for the process. I think this should be a feature that Anthropic offers to US based users.
Make it a win win situation instead.
@DodgersMemeTeam Downtown SD is a filthy cesspool. The entire downtown area smells like piss and human feces with drug addicts and vagrants everywhere. It's no wonder that an open air mental institution would produce shit teams. I surprised the Padres haven't left...
