I have heard hundreds of times "God told me" or "the holy spirit told me" only to find out they were mistaken or delusional. Truth is there on the pages of scripture, read it through the eyes of the hearers.

You can choose to ignore it or like a wise Christian and use the Bible to interpret itself but most are too lazy and just listen to the "experts".
