π£π«π Natural England's stand for Norfolk's wildlife has ruffled feathers! Norfolk County Council's leader seems to have lost touch with reality, expressing extreme political sentiments. The focus seems more on power than the will of the people. #ConservationMatters
Ancient Woodland in the Wensum Valley would be massively degraded through proximity to the Norwich Western Link. Under a new directive such deterioration must be reported to the Secretary of State. We will be watching to ensure this happens!

Fundamentally, the crux of the matter does not revolve around squandering the hard-earned money of taxpayers. Instead, the focus should be on guaranteeing that the utilisation of public funds is carried out judiciously.

Therefore, the mission of the activist is not just to oversee, but to actively engage in the process, advocating for the judicious use of resources and promoting decisions that prioritiee long-term sustainability over short-term gains.
See this! Even the pro-road lobby now recognises that there is huge popular opinion against the Norwich Western Link. Itβs time for @NorfolkTories to drop this vote loser.
@EDP24 So much misunderstanding here. The alleged cost of the delay should be challenged. None of the figures quoted are substantiated. Moreover, is it not right that if as is alleged the government agency has not complied with the law, it should not be held accountable?
The words used by Mr Freeman appear to us to be defamatory - clearly they will have an adverse impact on this expert's reputation and living. We suggest Mr Boswell seeks legal advice and Mr Freeman immediately removes his defamatory words.

@Andrew9Boswell is being subjected to an unfair drubbing by @EDP24 about his roads protest work and by his local MP @GeorgeFreemanMP.
Andrew is trying to get a roads programme that fits with legal Net Zero commitments and this approach feels bullying.

There is grave concern here in Norfolk about @NorfolkCC decision to build a bridge over the River Wensum SAC. The river accommodates a rare chalk stream and is at risk of further deterioration due to construction and operation of the proposed road. A legal action beckons!
Yesterday @theriverstrust released the 24 state of the rivers report.
It pulls together all the available data for England's rivers.
It makes for grim reading, no single stretch us in good condition.
ππ‘ Everyone is entitled to their opinion. As campaigners urging @NorfolkCC to rethink this road project, we respect those who argue for its construction, even though we may not agree with their arguments π§π·ββοΈ
Our role is to scrutinise decisions, highlight potential environmental and health impacts π³π₯ Accountability and transparency in local authorities and government are vital, and they should be open to challenges, whether through direct engagement or legal means, and without fear of recrimination βοΈπ
We're committed to ensuring our rhetoric is fair, accurate, and respectful. Respect is key π€ It promotes understanding, facilitates communication, encourages cooperation, prevents conflict, and nurtures a healthy society πποΈ
@GeorgeFreemanMP we understand your frustration and acknowledge your efforts promoting the A47 improvements project π However, we urge greater care when expressing views. Empathy and respect are crucial when responding to differing opinions π A personal attack on someone passionate about environmental protection doesn't help your cause π±π
We hope you consider making a public apology, and taking time to explore both sides of the congestion, safety, and rat-running debates π¦π Public discussions on these issues require a balanced approach π£οΈποΈ Its important that the public are presented with all of the facts and not just those which support a particular view.
Building more roads isn't the solution to our transport issues, and we believe you recognise this π£οΈβ‘οΈπ« We're eager to collaborate with you to explore less destructive, cheaper alternatives to the Norwich Western Link Road ππ Let's work towards a sustainable future! πΏππ€² #Respect #SustainableTransport #EnvironmentalProtection
It is not simply the dual carriageway - the associated infrastructure - the run-off pond, the service roads- the entire enterprise smashes up the Ringland Hills & Wensum Valley- woods, fields, watermeadow - everything; rendered unrecognisable to those that love them, forever.
Do not underestimate the reality of the disruption caused by any major road building project, hereβs an example at Wisley in Surrey.
There will be years of chaos and delays around #Stonehenge if the plans go ahead
