Back of the left hand monitors face.
Right shoulder trajectory monitors path.
Ball position, waist bend, shaft lean, ball-turf intent loosely governs low point.
Play golf.
Mats don't negate ball-first contact.
However, players do get rewarded for slight fat shots. As the club hits the mat first, this changes the dynamic attack angle through the ball, resulting in a higher launch, lower spin and more distance (and even a more solid feel).
So most players end up ingraining a pattern that is 1 inch+ farther behind the ball than ideal.
In The Strike Plan, I have a ton of mat-based drills that help solve this issue. You can learn more here - https://t.co/8OonTuY0cX
Man hours should be spent on hand path and the forces that come before to create that hand path…the hands are our only connection to the club.
Tigers on top!

This is exactly what @OleGolfCoach has been doing for decades in his “Playing Lessons” playing a 3 ball self scramble to show them what the player’s potential is. The success rate is amazing as it frees their minds.
For all the kids out there:
Ryan Fox played golf for the first time at 13 , didn’t play in a competitive tournament until he was 18 , didn’t win his first big amateur event until he was 24 and didn’t turn pro until the age of 25.
He is now a major champion
Always been a huge fan of the Sam Burns’ wrist hinge to start the swing.
Almost looks like he’s pressing the butt end of the club down to hinge it up.
As someone who has always fought an inside takeaway, this feeling has helped a lot.
