There is considerable recreation activity near the #GreenMountainRX again today. Please look out for firefighters and equipment and stay out of the burned area to reduce your risk of injury. There are areas of heat & other potential hazards.

Crews continue to secure and clean-up the edges of the burn area, and operations are all going as planned.
All ignitions have been completed for the #GreenMountainRX. Area residents please be aware that both smoke and flame may be visible overnight. Flame is from the interior of the burn area; crews are patrolling overnight to ensure the perimeter is secure.

#SouthPlatteRD firefighters have been briefed and are reengaged on the #SandSpringsRX. Very little smoke is visible this morning but you can expect it to increase throughout the day as fuels dry and interior pockets continue to consume.
#SouthPlatteRD ceases ignitions on the #SandSpringsRX completing a total of 235 acres. Smoke is still highly visible and may linger until the morning. Resources will remain on scene overnight and will patrol the unit tomorrow.
#SandSpringsRx continues to burn well on the #SouthPlatteRd. More smoke is visible in the area due to fire progression. Another objective for this RX fire is to reduce the risk of large, catastrophic fires that threaten human life and property, and protect recreational resources.
Ignitions on the #SandSpringsRX are going well. One resource objective for the RX is to create a sustainable forest by increasing diversity of forest vegetation and wildlife, while enhancing resistance to widespread insects and disease, and mitigating fuel loading. #SouthPlatteRD
#SandSpringsRX has a successful test fire and will proceed with ignitions. Smoke may be visible from hwy 126, Conifer, Pine & Bailey. #SouthPlatte and cooperator resources plan to burn 235 acres.

The South Platte Ranger District is moving forward with the #SandSpringsRX prescribed fire July 12, 2023. The Forest Service in cooperation with North Fork and Elk Creek Fire Protection Districts will begin ignitions at 9 am and will remain on scene until the fire is declared out
#SouthPlatteRD has ceased ignitions for the #SandSpringsRX. Crews completed a total of 15 acres of black line. Lingering smoke may be visible throughout the evening and into the morning. Resources will remain on scene through the late evening and will continue to patrol tomorrow.
