Hello, lovely librarians I need a bit of help.
I would love to do Blind Date with a Book and I think I know how to make it work for curbside services but! I ALWAYS have trouble actually picking the books.
Would love some advice for that, if possible. #AskALibrarian
βBiographies and periodicals are now located in the freezers. Audiobooks now sit where deli meats used to be. Part of our children's department is in what used to be the wine section.β https://t.co/q8PmvvMaz9
Coming from the writing end as well as the librarian, it truly depends on the intended audience as well as what the author wants to get across. Also depends on the character. In an adult novel, the villain failing and saying "oh fiddlesticks!" just won't cut it. #askalibrarian
What are librarians' thoughts on novels (I've noticed mostly mysteries/thrillers) that are randomly peppered with 4 letter words for emphasis? #askalibrarian
#askalibrarian What kinds of things do you put on your Facebook and how often do you post? We aren't running any programs right now and other than a lot of new books, it feels like nothing interesting is happening. I need ideas. π#askalibrarian
Ooh I hadn't thought about this... possibly Lord Venture (can't remember his first name) from Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson. He is the only villain/antagonist I truly truly hate. (so in a weird way, that makes him my favorite??) #askalibrarian
And after this morning's glorious sunrise the rain is coming down as if to, ahem, balance the books. We recommend a nice cup of tea (or coffee/hot beverage) and a good book.
I love Baby Blues personally. As the oldest of 8, I related to how the parents were some days. (Also my parents look uncannily like Wanda and Daryl...) #AskALibrarian
Hello, please recommend some titles in thrillers, mysteries and suspense that have bright endings. I could let some brightness take over me amid these busy days. Thank you. #Askalibrarian
