Results vs. Rhetoric in North Shropshire.
Conservatives delivered a new medical centre, modern leisure facilities, and record pothole repairs. Under @HelenMorganMP & Council, the noise is louder but delivery has stalled.
North Shropshire deserves results, not photo ops.
£192.8m from Government.
£0 consultation with residents.
8.99% Council Tax rise still planned.
If the crisis has been averted, why hit families with the biggest increase in Shropshire’s history?

Great to be out representing @KeeleYoungCons, @NorthShropCons, and Shropshire Young Conservatives in Gorton and Denton today supporting the formidable Charlotte Cadden (@Charlotty) alongside Shadow Health Secretary @StuartAndrew MP and @Winstamike
A lot of support for Charlotte on the doors.
If you haven’t been on the campaign trail, then now is the time to do so with just days to go until polling day.
Vote Conservative, Vote Charlotte Cadden!

Here’s the Lib Dem record in Shropshire so far: potentially record breaking higher council tax, rising town precepts, and increased car park charges.
Residents were promised responsible leadership, instead they’re seeing costs go up.
Enough is enough.
Shropshire’s Lib Dem council has been granted permission for a 9% council tax rise.
One of only two councils nationwide.
Well above the normal cap.
We will oppose any attempt to hit residents with this.

This is why the @LibDems shouldn’t be trusted with public finances. In North Shropshire, most town councils are limiting tax rises to ~5%. Lib Dem–run Oswestry is hiking its precept by 39%, with councillors resigning or defecting. Chaos locally, chaos nationally.
This is why the @LibDems should never be in charge of anything, let alone public finances.
The Shropshire Lib Dem council is bankrupting the council. In North Shropshire alone, we have five main towns/villages: Oswestry, Market Drayton, Whitchurch, Wem, and Ellesmere.
Over the past week, four of the town councils have announced their council tax precepts for this year. Market Drayton, Whitchurch, and Ellesmere are increasing by a maximum of 5%. These are town councils that take party politics out of town council level.
Wem is set to announce next week.
However, Oswestry Town Council is increasing the precept by 39%. This is absurd because Oswestry Town Council is political – it’s Lib Dem-run. Five of the Lib Dem town councillors in Oswestry have resigned, defected to independent non-aligned or the Greens. Liberal Democrats on a town council level are causing chaos.
The Lib Dem Shropshire Council are just as chaotic.
If this is what they’re like on a local level, imagine what they could do on a national level!

We look forward to the coming year with great optimism, seeing the tiny green shoots of hope, tenacity & a renewed determination we stand a greater chance of securing a positive outcome. On that note, I wish you all a happy Christmas & a Happy New Year.

Andrew Griffith is doing what the Chancellor won’t: telling the truth about the public finances.
ONS figures show borrowing at £132.3bn by Nov, £10bn up on last year and far beyond the OBRs £52.4bn forecast.
Labour talks responsibility - numbers say otherwise.
To hit the Chancellor's forecast, the solid blue line needs to hit the yellow dot at the end of March.
"That's bold Minister" as they say in Whitehall.😱
Rachel Reeve's plan is that huge cumulative tax raids on business and hardworking households reduces the deficit (it certainly is not spending cuts or even spending control!).
So far this year, the government has borrowed £132bn, £10bn MORE than at the same time last year...
Childish spats between Shropshire’s Lib Dem council leadership and Labour MP Julia Buckley aren’t just embarrassing - they’re alarming.
With the council near financial collapse, residents deserve competence, not chaos.

We are deeply concerned by the approval of a 22-bed #HMO at the former Smithfield Hotel in #Oswestry, despite serious local objections. With another HMO approved days earlier, real concerns remain over cumulative impact, parking pressure, local services and the town’s character.

Labour have broken promise after promise since taking office.
This week @Conservatives voted to scrap the Family Farm Tax.
Farmers feed our nation — no farms, no food.
And our local MP @HelenMorganMP didn’t even turn up to vote.
We will be working hard cross party to ensure Oswestry Town Council and Shropshire County Council are both held to account. You can find our statement in this Shropshire Live article:

Les Maguire, Chair of #Oswestry Conservatives, explains why this #LibDem plan amounts to marking their own homework. The same councillors sitting on both sides of the decision and Oswestry residents left paying twice.
This isn’t transparent. It isn’t fair. Make your voice heard
