The Sturgeon Lake Cree Nation is calling on the federal government to conduct an independent review of Kevin O’Leary’s proposed Wonder Valley AI data centre campus, a $70-billion project planned 40 kilometres south of Grande Prairie in northwestern Alberta.
Chief Sheldon Sunshine has raised concerns about inadequate consultation with his Nation throughout the approval process, arguing the province has repeatedly sidelined Indigenous rights in favour of fast-tracking the project.
