You chose Android for a more open ecosystem.
From September 2026, Google is closing that ecosystem.
Every app on certified devices will need to come from a developer who has registered with them and provided government ID.
You literally bought a device Google now wants to own.
The phone is already designed to report location, usage, and telemetry back to Google at regular intervals. This policy simply removes the remaining escape routes.
If you still believe the device you purchased should remain under your control, keep reading.

Imagine typing a description and instantly hearing the perfect sound effect. That's exactly what MOSS-SoundEffect-v2.0 does. It's a text-to-audio diffusion model that turns your words into custom sounds. Game changer for creators.
A used Mac Pro off Craigslist for $800, three weeks of upgrades and a $2,070 total build cost.
192GB RAM, an Afterburner card, 8TB NVMe and an eGPU enclosure later, video exports dropped from 18 minutes to 4, three local LLMs run simultaneously without breaking a sweat and models that normally need cloud compute run entirely locally.
Apple wants $12,000 for similar specs. The used market sold him the same hardware for a fraction of that, and the $400 to $600 in monthly API savings paid the whole build back in under 4 months.
“Kimi is just distilled from Fable”
Meanwhile in other labs :
> Grok got caught stealing all user data
> OpenAI got caught stealing everything from Apple
> Anthropic stealing user data
> Cursor got caught stealing entire weight of Kimi-K2.5
> New US lab steals Kimi-K2.5 and call it synthetic data
TRY COUNTING THESE FISH YOURSELF AS THEY SWIM PAST THAT LINE. LOST COUNT ALREADY? THIS AI MODEL GOT ALL 145.
A fish farm owner caught three workers stealing fish for years and fired every one of them the same week. In their place: this system, running for $47 a month. It does two different things.
• First, it just watches a frame at a time, counting every fish it can see, tangled together, half-hidden, overlapping, the number swinging between 45 and 70 depending on the exact moment, averaging 59, a rough read at best.
• Second, it draws a single line straight through the water and switches modes entirely, every fish that swims across that line gets caught the instant it happens, climbing steadily on screen until it locks on one final number: 145.
The YOLO11 model didn't come knowing what a fish looks like any more than it knew a pallet or a cow. Someone had to train it specifically: 200 photos of fish in murky, moving water, half-submerged, tangled together, boxes drawn around each one by hand until the model learned to pick a fish out from the water around it. For the line-crossing count, ByteTrack takes over, holding an ID on each fish so it only gets counted once as it crosses.
Running the system behind it costs $47 a month, the same setup used across every client type in the article. That number is worth $1,800 a month on average to the businesses already paying for it.
This same idea is already running at parking lots, gyms, retail doors, warehouses, cafes, bike-share racks. Full breakdown of what each one pays is in the article below.
Google has changed the game.
They’ve open-sourced an always-on AI agent that runs 24/7 and never forgets anything you feed it.
drop ANY file into a folder, pdf, image, audio, video, and it remembers it forever, links it to every other memory, and writes new insights on its own while idle.
no rag. no vector db. no forgetting.
100% open source.
