He kicked his dog to death. That’s it. That’s the whole story.

Manahawkin NJ. July 24. Stafford Township cops show up to a house because a pet is dead. Not sick. Not hit by a car. Kicked. By the man who was supposed to feed it.

Christopher Cook. 40 years old. That’s the name behind it. Cops say he kicked the dog one time. One. And it died where it stood.

They charged him with third degree animal cruelty. Third degree. Like there’s a chart somewhere that measures how much a life is worth when you end it with your foot.

He turned himself in at Ocean County Jail on August 22. Walked in, walked back out. Released. No trial date yet. No consequence yet. Just a man back in his own house, the same house the dog died in.

That dog didn’t get a lawyer. Didn’t get a hearing. Didn’t get a say. It got a boot and a police report.

Third degree. Say it out loud and tell me that’s justice.
